It's a Hawk fest? Just Tom's lone Allora.
4 from Wales?

Yes plus another 3 Hawks on Gerrys stand, mine, Vince's and Gerry's Giro car (which has resulted in a change of mind for a Stradale buyer!)

No Lister Bell stand but Craig was around.

Great weekend, car behaved itself all weekend but I managed to snap a release cable for the rear clip. Oops.

Can I just say a thank you to John Butterfield (Your Chairman) for sorting out the layout of the site with Flags and bunting etc...

If there was a prize for the best stand we would have won I think, even the organisers came over to say a well done for having the cars on the stand (6) and everything set up by 10:02am..

Carol as always was on hand with tea and drinks and never stopped all day, and night, (John takes some looking after, along with the rest of us)

Also a thank you to all of those who have a car and could make the journey, we had several people on the stand who said that they only came to the show to see the Stratos, so Carol sold them a mug to take home...(Well....we all have to start somewhere!!)
We had 13 cars on the stand at one point, the most I have seen at an event for some time, and it was good to see so many faces, its a shame a few more of you could not have stopped a little later into the evening and joined us for eats and watch the Rally DVD's on the Screen that had been arranged.
Maybe next year?

Of course thanks to all the members who dont have a car, or are not in a position to drive their car yet, that could travel to the show and make an appearance on the stand.
This is one of the best chances for you to see the cars on display and in numbers.

It would be great for us here in the U.S. to get together. Too bad it seems like we are basically on the left or right coast. That's a lot of space in between!

I was hoping they would get you to pay my tab.....

Ill pass on the complement.

I had two texts on Sunday night to tell me there were two Stratos at the pub ( you cant go anywhere in a Strat without being noticed ).

So who was selling?:

"I can't really explain it (& I don't want to) but there was a Lancia Stratos replica there for sale at £20,000, my wife spent more than that on a Merc 280SLK a couple of years ago. If I'd been given £20,000 & the choice to spend it on the SLK or the Stratos I know which I'd have gone home in. The SLK was a nice car but it was bland to drive - too smooth, too quiet, too many driver aids. You might say that it was reliable compared to the Stratos replica but it wasn't even that because the gearbox went wrong, to the tune of £1500, after less than 35,000 miles & with a full Merc service history. At least with the Stratos, having built it, you'd probably expect it to go wrong & know how/where to start fixing it."

We actually did manage to get most of the US membership together a couple of times (back when there were only 3 or 4 of us) in the early 2000's. None of us had cars on the road, but we didn't let that stop us. Jeff Davison, John Lagerquist and I all flew over to the Abingdon show in England in 2001, and I've been back on the far side of the pond for events a few times since.

We'd also gotten together at some of the big FIAT club events. Usually get good turnout at the Carlisle (Pennsylvania) Import, Kit and Replica show in May (East coast and Canada members), or the annual FIAT Freakout (some west coast and international members). No reason we couldn't shoot for one of those, especially since Freakout changes venue every year. It's on Long Island this year, and it's been as far west as Missouri. Not sure if it's ever made it to the left coast, but there are some other events out west I might be pursuaded to attend. I think it's a matter of seeing if they'll let replicas into the show. I know that the Fiat Club will - there are enough classic parts in a Stratos replica to qualify as a FIAT product!

Hi Scott, I agree the freakout or the carlisle show would lbe cool. If we can get into a show where our donor cars were the main star we could choose from ferrari, pantera, alfa, fiat, lamborghini :)
