It was a while ago when I spoke to Tim Ashton at BTR at the time I asked about supply, he said that they had bought panels from Hawk in the past but found they needed that much work for them to fit that it wasn't worth the effort and they wouldn't be buying anymore. That was straight from the horses mouth.

I emailed Gerry last night as I was sure he'd told me that he supplies panels to them on a regular basis, Gerry replied:
"We make them, in fact they are collecting another front today, apparently he touched a tree this weekend, and is needing car fixed by Friday !!"
I hope this settles the question! They may need work to fit but where else are they going to get them at short notice?

and is needing car fixed by Friday !!"
.........seems to take me longer than that!
Anyway, who's got a flywheel dowel to get me back on the road?
Talking to Paul Spooner in Hawick service on last year's Roger Albert Clark rally, he mentioned about the door latch mechanism dropping inside the door and that Steve had to hold onto the door on right handers so that it wouldn't fly open. I did ask whether he bought parts from Hawk but the answer was they had to use genuine parts as it's FIA registered :confused:They'd have to say that wouldn't they! .... and couldn't use Hawk panels anyway, they don't fit, nudge, nudge, wink, wink .....
Think this version of the car is more in line with FIA regs but the earlier blue version was ... shall we say a bit more modified in several areas.... sounds like the P.C. answer to me too especially when it comes to bodywork... Original.. yeh right... Bertone still producing them then?
Back on the road again...4812
