Apparently Opel only did this colour for about a year (?)........ my car looks slightly lighter than the photo's......... I also saw an original Chardonnet car in Italy and it was much darker than mine !

What livery are you planning Graham? L'auto, VSD and Motorac have all been done. theres still SG and Kway that haven't

I've not made up my mind yet. I do like the blue cars and was hoping to get some correct paint codes to get some samples made. Single colour may be best for competition and repairs. What blues have the guys used for their cars? Which guys have the VSD motorac and L'auto cars?

There are a few shades of opel signal blau 224, don't think two will be alike.

I have the L'auto scheme

Cadami is going with the VSD

Bernard has the Motorac

Look on Arena Modelli website for images of models with the various liveries. SG looks good, think Sando has Graphics files for the Kway??

Many thanks , had a look at the models . There are a huge variety of liveries . Great site thanks .
The blues do vary from all the photos I've seen on the web. A few paint swatches needed I think.
Thanks

Hi Graham
When I painted mine in the 90's I did the research into the colour........ only to find that after I had sprayed it there were photo's and "original" cars in different shades !!!!!!........... as strat24v says.... there are a few shades so just pick the one you like

Also agree .......the "SG" car looks good with the flash of red on the bonnet

thanks Phil, as ever with race and rally cars things evolve between cars and they made use of what was available at the time. "SG" car does look good.

If you wanted a one off livery, single colour with added vinyl graphics that also looks the dogs danglies, try Michell Vaillante. Was only ever a cartoon but in my book, looks great. If ever I get round to finishing the first, number 2 would have that scheme.

Looks too dark for Chardonnet blues. Must be a special. I like the look of this car. Looks well restored.
