View Full Version : What are the 3 rear arch types?
ok so there is the stradale arch and the group 4 arch...but what the other(s). the listerbell arches look much more bulbous and rounded than normal Gp 4 arches or it just me???
I believe there are two different styles of Group 4 flares.

Stradale, the original rounded Group4 round arch, which was a specific centre tub and rear clam, superseded by the rivet-on square arches which converted Stradale bodywork to group 4.

But why are there 2 different types of group 4 rear arch? Is there a benefit from one or the other?

I think Chris basically covered this in post 3?
A theory of course but if the early group 4 cars were round arch then this required a bespoke mould to make, later in the timeline it will have been easier to pull a Stradale rear canopy from the production line & convert it to GP4 with the simple addition of a wheel spat/extension.
The section of the arch on the centre tub will always have been rivetted on to a standard Stradale steel centre tub
