Still out of reach Chris.... Originals were the price of the LB on offer now when I bought my kit back in 1988, I ticked most options on Gerry's list and managed to spend £6500-£7000.

Still buy a lottery ticket every week.

That's a statistic to ponder on is it not?
Related or not related, something else to ponder about is "What happened to that very damaged Stratos centre tub seen on Roberto's gallery?"

Mind you, if you want it to look and sound like an original, Dino engine etc, replica will be over £100k if you get all the right bits... counting in labour.
What price a steel fabricated cockpit?

Well, this one was annoying:
1 year after I paid £17k for a Hawk:
Even at that time, it was cheap.

(this is where someone points out the 6R4 for slightly less)

Hi Phil,

No, this one was for sale in Germany at the Nurburgring Oldtimer historic race meeting auction.
Scheldt and Pettet car was round arch.

I wonder what the seller thought of that price at the time? Not a happy bunny I'd guess....

I've seen other photos of that car Guy. It certainly wasn't one of the nicest. It's funny though, today, you wouldn't turn your nose up at any proper Stratos?
In that period, genuine cars were always going for more than £30k at auction, but not as much as £40k. I think £18k was still a good £10k less than it ought have made?
