Hi,

At very short notice (yesterday), I've booked into a track day at Knockhill in Fife.

It's a morning session only... My brother persuaded me to drive up and have a thrash around the track.

Not sure who if anyone is near, but it would be good to meet other members if you're interested in popping over.

I hope you are driving up the day before, otherwise it will be an early start, as its a 5 hour drive (well for me anyway)
Its a decent little track though, nice and easy to learn, I was there a couple of times and had a great time - I was even there as part of the CAE Demo Video http://www.turbonutter.net/apps/videos/videos/show/14647505-cae-demo

Hi,
Yes, driving up tomorrow night and going for a few beers in Larbert... The vid is excellent... some great action... The 360Deg is fab.... did that once in a Mk2 escort.. went back the next morning to photograph the tyre marks !
This track has hills in it.. that'll be a new dimension vs Blyton.
First track session with LSD and revised front geometry... Fingers crossed.

Be careful of the first righthander - it drops away sharply and the back end doesn't stick with cold tyres. On the chicane, don't go across the kerbs on the right.

Thanks Chris,

I've had a quick look at the track on YouTube, but it never tells the full story (and cars tend to be well warmed up as well).
Thanks for the tips... It might just save the day and mean I can drive back home again !

700 miles in 30 hours.... I had to be creative with the coffee cup holder.

What a blast Knockhill was..Great circuit and in good nick just now...
The inner "red kerb" is to be avoided (as Chris pointed out). I saw a Westfield perched right on top.. All 4 wheels off the ground and the car rocking back and forward.

Track slippy first thing and cold tyres.. First few laps saw around half a dozen cars spinning off and the session stopped for recovery.
The hairpin before the main straight I found the trickiest... Uphill into it and then flattens out... Lots of traction then none... Spun once here and lots of wiggles.
The LSD makes a significant difference and took a bit of getting used to (and a few more track days to get the hang of it properly I think.)

The car performed brilliantly... Much more front end grip and the overall balance felt OK.... Tyre wear supports all of this... Don't think I've ever peeled off this much rubber before.!!

I've got some pics and a wiggle video coming.. I'll post when I get them.
Massive interest in the car and it held up well against some pretty serious opposition.
Great day on what I though was a great track.. I'll be having another go if anyone is interested in joining in.
