View Full Version : 24v CRANK locking tool
Anyone got one I can borrow?
my usual trick of a strap bolted to the flywheel bent the flat steel bar. Crank nut is on FFF tight.
i read there is a tool that locks the pulley in place?
I'll buy one if I need to just thought I'd ask here first
pulley is 130mm type

I had the same problem when i stripped my GTA engine - they are really hard to undo with the engine out - in the end I drilled & split the nut as you should replace it anyway, its no big deal. I will have the same problem again, as I have stripped the engine again but didnt loosen the nut while it was in the car! So it will be out with the drill again....

I bought one for doing the cambelt job on the 166 as it's an auto, but the nut was so fiercely(!) tight I drilled it anyway. Was worried about snapping off the 6mm bolts used to attach it to the block TBH.
Ordered one in, worked absolutely fine for me.
Just had to get the compressor up to full steam and the knocker in Ninja mode, and it loosened first go.
home made front cam wheel locking clips worked a treat as well, didn't even need to take the lids off. :-)
