Hi all,

My name is Gary and I live in Monmouthshire. I've joined SEC because I've had a soft spot for the Stratos since I first heard (and saw) one rallying across Mynydd Epynt when just a young boy in the min 70s and I fancy building one.

Maybe its a mid-life crisis thing, but if I get a Stratos at the end of it then it'll be a crisis worth having ;)

Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary, seems you've found the midlife crisis club, ALL here are afflicted, some more than others!

Welcome Gary. Not sure we're all going through the mid life crisis. Isn't 50's now the new 30??

Welcome to the madhouse Gary! If it's a midlife crisis then I guess mine started before I hit 30.... and I'm still not through it!

Hi all, my name is Richard and I live in the New Forest. I've jumped the queue and just bought a beautiful example. I've been waiting for years for this even though my crisis should have finished years ago. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Richard, If you can make it pop along to the car show at Stoneleigh or the Classic show at Silverstone thats where you should see the best turnout of cars normally.

Hi Ian, i saw your cars at Silverstone in 2011. Had I realised that you're so welcoming, I would have said hello. They did look fantastic!

Thanks all, I sense kindred spirits :D

I told some friends in the pub this evening of my plans, half expecting some sucking of teeth and dire warnings of money pits. But no, apparently I've been threatening to do this for years and they're glad I'm finally extracting my digit and doing something about it. They've all pronounced the Alitalia colour scheme as the one to go for, which was nice of them.

Yes its an assumption some people have, like you when I first saw the club at abingdon, I got the impression that they weren't very approachable, who wrong was I but its something we as a club need to work on it appears.

And would it be safe to assume that Richards "new" car is the other Richards "old" one?!

Gary, if you are looking for a shortish cut to a newly built car, then I have my ListerBell chassis up for sale in the classifieds section. You could have a driving chassis completed by late this year, get Craig to do you the body and fit it for December and give yourself the best xmas present ever!

Here it is, two cars with almost identical interiors. 17 years ago, eek!
