Aw come on Brent you cant let it beat you now, after all the work you've put into it

I know the garage you got to work in would drive me daft, but come on you cant be that far off finished ?. Head down one more push, just slap it together to get through IVA then enjoy it in the summer months then redo work your not happy with in the winter months. That's what I did !.

Yes I went through the faze of all work no play (total fustration) and felt it was a money pit, put it up for sale, had a guy come and make me an offer. Then it hit home that this was my car, my dream, and I am not going to put all that effort and cash in to just give up and make someone else's dream come true. So I told him where to put his offer and knuckled down. And as I said above make getting through IVA ( in any condition) a priority. BEST decision I ever made.

Hope you change your mind.
Mel

P.S.
Is there anything we can do as a CLUB to help ???

It's as Mel says (Dr Mel, that is) .. there are times when it simply feels like an impossible task, and that every task takes weeks instead of hours and every few steps forward is accompanied by one back. I never got as far as actually trying to sell mine, but I raised the possibility a couple of times but ultimately came back to the view that this was what I wanted to do and that I wouldn't let it get the better of me. If I remember rightly you are working in a fairly tight garage (tighter than mine), but it sounds like you're really already over the worst of the work and just about to line up for the "home stretch". There are just two goals ahead now, getting it running on its wheels and then onto the road. Trimming is certainly an optional task for both of these, and painting needn't cost the earth (just paint it white is a simple strategy). Of course once on the road then other modifications can considered.

What can we do to help?

Jeff.

Hi Brent

Given the cost of kits now and if I had the money spare, I would be paying you a visit, but have to echo Mel and Jeff's comments and wonder if it is simply the long journey to the end which has got you to this decision or maybe some other reason? If it is the former, then hopefully you may be persuaded to rethink?

(here speaks someone who is 4 years into refurbishing his Beta Spyder and no sign of finishing anytime soon...)

Thought this way a few times but now when I'm fed up of it, I walk away then come back to it later. It's been over two years since I've done anything with mine, just nicely started again. Please don't give up at this late stage, as others have said, what can we do as a club to help? Maybe you could have an open day at yours?

Thanks all for your kind words, but I'm still going to sell, if not through the site and the members here then via ebay! I'll be placing an add in the next week or so, but I would rather sell here to a good home and to someone who will appreciate the car.

All the best Brent.
