Hi All

No connection with seller, just seen it on Gumtree, cheap kit if you fancy the work maybe?

Some non standard features there, rear bulkhead has been restructured to accommodate the Chevy V8! so drivers may be limited to 5'2" tall, the front chassis structure is non standard, as I'm sure is the rear cradle. No mention of suspension in the listing which is where a lot of the expense lies in a Corse (assuming its an "I").
Cheap for a chassis & body although that is only the start of such a project.
Happy to offer advise though if anyone wishes to pursue it.

Hi Craig

So in your view if you wanted to build a kit, here would not be best place to start and will it probably cost you more in the long run than just buying an off the shelf kit? As well as more time of course.

Good price for a stack of spares - all bodywork & windscreen would cost more than that.

Hi Peter,

It would come down to the individuals ability & motivation. For someone who has some previous build experience & the facilities to fabricate/reengineer items then I don't think it is a bad place to start as it is below current market value for what is on offer. The condition of the screen would however be open to debate after all the years as it will probably be prone to delamination.
I do think that anyone embarking on any Stratos replica build in this day & age has to be realistic about the costs & time involved however & it is essential that they do their research correctly before committing to such a project.

It's a more complete package of bits than I started my build with....but I wouldn't do that again!! The other issue was that when I was building mine, at the beginning at least, Hugh was still trading so I managed to get the most awkward bits from him before he closed down. Given the situation now, plus the fact that the chassis has been modified, even more work and more hassles than I had to deal with.

I wouldn't....

Having just seen the pictures John has emailed me I hope noone here bought it.
It was unscrupulous to call it a CAE.

No longer avaible ; may be the guy had to think again... or more.... about his low price LOL
Or may be that french man selling some Corse bodywork panels just jumped into an "Easy Fly" from Lyon and did a super kick buying as he is unable to built any chassis!!!! RELOL !!!!

Am +1 with you Craig hope is not some nice member who bought it ; loooooooooooooooooot of work with that bunch of parts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't a nice chassis for sure, but the asking price was fair for a decent enough set of bodywork.
I had made enquiries because I thought it was perhaps a modified CAE chassis from the description but it turned out to be a scratch built.
I was interested because of where it was and who might be selling it.
I like to keep an eye on sales in that geographic area......

I guess this is one of those threads which shows how well this forum works in helping those of us who have relatively little experience to navigate the whole kit building/buying path. Hopefully, as has been previously mentioned, it is going to some one who knows what they are buying and not an unsuspecting novice....
