Alfaholics were showing their Group 4 Lancia Stratos at the show last weekend, very smartly turned out to concours standards.
Some odd details ...
No boot lid or catch, or presumably boot, just a flat panel on the rear clam.
No Lancia nose badge.
Narrow (Hawk?) front louvres.
Huge rear pillars supporting raised engine cover louvres, to clear oversize air filter.
Strange side jacking points? front and rear, odd extra side clam fixings/mountings?
Reversed rear body catch.

Rear fog/reverse lights flush fitted.
Holes from removal of front spoiler?

All back to how it was used in competition in its former life.
They all seem to evolve slightly differently don't they.... Mind you quite a few came out of the factory differently depending who screwed things together :) God loves them all equally!

So in the Competition Cars where was the handbrake located?

Under dash like Guy's or between the two people as in this photo, or did it change depending on what they were doing?

As far as I know. Later works cars under dash. A lot of converted Stradales still on the spine. As they were all converted Stradales it's just how far has any preparation work gone or to their own tastes ( as this one ) and how deep people's pockets were.

PS looking on the lip of that Nose, I'd put money on that being a Hawk front end....so would explain the louvers.

What do we think the two hole by/near the overcentre catches are for? They are carried over from when it was restored.

Could these be the mountings for the clam shell bumper stops?

Probably for the ball and socket fittings that locate the front and rear clips as you close them. The brackets inside the panels should be bonded to the inner surfaces, never seen them bolted through the panel before.

That's what I assumed but was surprised to see they didn't disappear during the restoration

Does anyone supply those fittings or do they have to be fabricated?

I'm not aware of anyone fabricating them at the moment but I know Geoff Turton has made a couple of sets (and may still have the templates available. 0151 420 3420 I think if you want to call him direct at work.
