I have a perspex rear screen you could use as a pattern? It may be slightly smaller than standard though.

FOS Polonez are an alternative to the Fiat 132 stub axles but I can't see any on eBay.pl at the moment. I believe Gerry carries a small stock?

Hi Michel,

No, those are the thinner 124 stub axle.
I do know where they are available new. Here:

I just wondered if there were any spare secondhand ones? Or four stud front hubs, following a 5 stud upgrade?

Hi Michel,
No, those are the thinner 124 stub axle.

Having said that, there is one 124 Spider that is fitted with the stronger (132) type stub axle;
The 124 Spider Volumex. The mention of 124 VX can confuse some stub/hub/wheel bearing listings.

You need antibiotics Chris. Or sectioning. Possibly both. Good luck with the project though!

If anyone had told me, in the last couple of years, that I'd be looking to put another Stratos replica together, I'd have laughed. The possibility seemed that remote.

However, with the collective good will, help, and above all, generosity of members of this forum, it looks like it might be possible.

There are still some mountains to climb getting this 'Johnny Cash' Stratos off the ground, but when I get 'the build' to a significant stage, I will mention everyone on the growing roll call of 'Johnny Cash Benefactors'. You'll know who you are individually, but you'll be surprised at the numbers. I know I am.

It really does mean a lot to me, thank you to everyone for your help so far.

I'm seriously thinking of selling this lot up.
Due to all my garage space at home disappearing, and a lack of progress.
And I'm not getting any younger, or fitter.

I'm always mindful of people's generosity.
However, the way things are right now, I can't progress.
The situation might change though. I'll see.

Keep at it Chris,

Many a mickle makes a muckle!!!

This simple theory works, I know, I spent 3hrs just looking at coolant tube/pipes/bends/beads etc yesterday.

Don't loose faith, I will happily nip up the road and give a hand anytime.
Tim.

If it wasn't for you Chris, I wouldn't have bought my Lister Bell, you've been a huge help. If I could I'd be over to help you out, but it's a bit far for the weekend. Keep plugging away. It sounds like you've got plenty of support.

Thanks Tim/Paul (and David J, via email).

I'll post something on here as soon as I know what's what.
It's not a lack of help, so much as a couple of significant things that need to happen.

I am now beginning to realize what you are speaking about Chris and I’m a neophyte! Some days lots of things happen, other days very little, due to other circumstances unfolding around you. But keep up the fight Chris, one little chip at a time!

Just to recap;
I sold my orange Hawk Prototype replica in 2012. This was to raise enough funds to set myself up in self employment.
Thinking that I would never be able to afford another Stratos replica, (I am not sure I ever could?) I bought Tom Ransom’s ex Allora tuned Beta twin cam engine and box, with the intention of building a quick 2.0 Fiat X1/9. My enthusiasm for an X1/9 wained a little and I then wondered if it was possible to gather enough used and new parts to build a Stratos rep. from scratch. By some miracle, I did eventually find all the parts I needed, except for just one little thing, a chassis. So I decided to build my own…

See new build thread here (https://www.stratosec.com/Forum/showthread.php/6649-CJ-JC-Mark-1)
