Supposedly left over after the restoration of an original.

Good starting price but you'd have to have somewhere to store them (or need them?)

Far old hike to collect them!

I could have just about made that a full set, but....

and it's the wrong side door.

Why are these things always in places like Inverness, or Penzance?

'Think the rear might well be an original.
I can't see the stiffener away from the edge on the front, so maybe a Hawk?

Is that you bidding Chris? I think I'd agree that the front clip is Hawk, rear could well be original, especially if the rear spoiler is moulded in. The louvre panel looks odd too with three supports for each slat?

And a steel rear louvre panel - not heard of that before - was it to avoid glassfibre sagging from engine heat?

Hmmmm - Geoff Turton made a couple of aluminium ones back in the day but they were both two support ones. I think one went on Nick Moats car and the other on a yellow car (?).

The louvers don't sag from heat if they're installed under tension rather than being forced into the aperture under tension which is relieved when they get hot...

No Guy, not me.

I have just put a bid on them, my rear clip was pretty abused before I got the car and a spare would be handy.

I'd like to make an objection to this thread title. When did they start getting called 'clips'? Stop this creeping Americanisation right now chaps!!

:p

My thread, my title. :D

Got an alternative name Chris?

That sounds a little politically incorrect .....

It's just quicker to type clip (and everyone knows what it is ) than front body panel, rear body panel and a few other odds and ends!

I'm sure someone will find a use for them!

Seems every walk of life has the creeping liberal bullshit of political correctness and people screaming racism when there is no racism, wished it hadn't reared its head here. Time for me to leave I'm afraid.

I have been calling them Clams - same 5 letters as Clips so nice and short - I always thought a clip was a front subframe and chassis related rather than bodywork.

Oi - I was pointing out that our French friend was being politically incorrect about himself!!!! Love it when people don't take themselves seriously, shows a proper sense of humour!

I'm with Darkside on this one,
A clip is a suspension subframe, clam is a big moving piece of moving bodywork.

That's not how your post reads, but the opposite.

Apologies if that's how anyone read it John - the little smiley face at the end was meant to show it was tongue in cheek! Might have been better if I;d quoted the original post?

No offence intended!

That's what I have always thought they were called...

....and has a post been deleted? Not getting the references to a non-PC post....like I care about PC...I'm a Mac user myself.
