After four years of blood, sweat and tears, i'm pleased to announce the re-birth of my ex-Waldegard Safari car
Still a little work to do, however, the car is now MOT'd, taxed, insured and just about ready to run in anger again after 30 years in a barn in Italy.

The photo was taken back in November - i'll post up more news when i have some, we will be doing some outings and a couple of shows over the next couple of months and will be shaking the car down over the next three weeks - wish me luck !

Probably had to get a Barista involved...... Sorry!
Seriously good to see another original restored. Well done.

I've certainly shed a few tears over parts disappearing on this journey. There's one item outstanding which is my original Ex-Munari engine block which i am hopeful to get back - if anybody sees or is offered this block, please let me know, as it's mine.

Part of the process is quite sensitive - as John pointed out, Barista's may be involved but i think let's not point fingers or mention names right now - it is on-going.

"PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE OFFERED THIS BLOCK" This is the number, and history (from a prominent Stratos specialist for the record)
"829.A.000 001191 is a Lancia Corse Engine , used by Sandro for the Prove of the 1975 Safari". That's my engine block, very distinguishable (as i found out very late on) as it is polished inside.

Well, despite all this, we've managed to finished the car to the exact setup of 1976 Safari. Photo of my block here.

You are welcome Ian - after all you made a nice copy of it ! (this car is the one Waldegard drove in 1975 RAC)

Now taking bookings.......

If you drive it through a stage with me in the passenger seat I can guarantee it'll get heavily patinated!
Congratulations on the achievement Dave.

Hi Ken
we'll be at "classics at the castle" at Sherbourne on 17th July - i've done this before in Kermit and it's nice day out. Still firming up a couple of others. If you like i could ask the organisers for an SEC concession ?

We've been out testing the car at Dave Bullen's airstrip near Langport. The car ran really well with some new HT leads. A few shots attached.

Congrats for this great job on your amazing Safari Stratos

I cannot imagine if I have an original one ( in another life maybe) I think I would sleep all nights beside in the garage!!

More seriously hopefully to have chance to meet you with your Stratos once...
