Wow! You lucky lucky b*****!
5 mins ago we were watching Brian Cox in a Typhoon Eurofighter. The OH asked if I would have a go in one to which I said hell yes but if I was offered a choice between that and an old warbird like a Spit or Mustang I'd take the old prop every time.
And now I see this!
I'll second Chris - you are a very lucky b**tard.
It is something I'm going to do one day.
Wow! You lucky lucky b*****!
Yeah, that! ^

Congratulations Andy
This is a so great experience !!! and your pics are fantastic.......
In a while you would be able to compare An Spit "acceleration" to an Aseptogyl one !!!!!;)

Living in Sussex we regularly see them flying over Arundel out of Goodwood - and I can now recognise the sound of the Merlin engine when I'm working in the garage - and always rush out to watch it fly over. A wonderful aircraft and no doubt an incredible experience for you ! Lucky man !

Fantastic, to say I'm jealous is an understatement!!
An acquaintance of mine did something similar in New Zealand, and put the result on You Tube

Same vintage but way less rare and exotic, I had a go in a T6 a few years back while on holiday in Florida. Downside - it wasn't a Spit. Upside, I got to fly it for most of the duration. I went for the aerobatics option and got the chance to fly loops, rolls, stall turns. In an ideal world, do both, but faced with the choice of ride in a Spit or pilot a Harvard....
After that I then spent an hour in a Bell 47G done up in full MASH trim, again, flying it for most of the 1 hour session. No loops or rolls in that one though :)
Congratulations Andy! My favorite aircraft of all time! Perfect in all ways! This picture has sat on my wall for many years.
