Just really thinking out loud here and planning way ahead for my car.

What thoughts have folk had when deciding on the interiors of their cars in terms of carpet, dash, harnesses and seat colour?

I'm not a particular fan of very dark interiors and although I am planning on a Group 4 rally replica I really want to avoid an interior that resembles a black cave. Trying to hunt down photos of original car interiors I seem to find lots of black caves although I've found a few pics of rally cars with red seats which I quite like.

Anyone have any words of wisdom or inspirational photos of their car interior to give me something to think about?

Sandos red group 4 has black seats, dash and door cards but the rest is painted white like modern wrc stuff. Looks good.

Ah, but remember Sando's is black and white because he didn't get a colour licence. Cheapskate. ;)

I've gone for seats in the closest I could find to the 70s original colour used in a lot of the Stradale cars.

I guess it's best described as baby sick / diarrhea / dysentery beige :D, cool in an awful 70s way.

They are not as 'yellow' as this, it's the lighting! LB seats and trimmed by LB's trimmers.

They look suitably retro :)

I paid a fair bit of attention to the LB seats when I was at the Stoneleigh show and thought they looked good and also felt comfortable so I expect I will be going down that route. Still holding out for some pics of nice red seats in a GP4 car for inspiration..... or otherwise.

So, Rob - now it looks like a proper dodgem car. Just needs a "Silcocks" sponsorship sticker and every time you stop, people will be wanting to give you a quid for a go...

So YOU'RE the one holding up LB's trimmers! I've been waiting on the rest of my parts and the interior is the last bit to get done before it ships!

;):D

Sunglasses time!
Rubber mat on floor, black carpet on bulkhead. Custom harnesses and red seats. Black flocked dash, matt black uncovered door-cards.
Utilitarian, I have a habit of 'patinating' new stuff quite quickly.

I can just hear the scrutineer now asking " do these belts all have the same age label?!"

Ha ha yes!
And exactly Leigh that's what I was thinking too.
Do you still have a Benneton jumper Chris?

The red seats are doing it for me.
Not sure I could be bold enough for the belts :D

Ah yes, the VW Polo Harlequin, an official VW model for those that haven't been 'blinded' before by its garish paint scheme!!

those two red seats might be coming up for sale if you don't need valid MSA dates.
