That's two Chevette's and a 'homologation' Nova 1.3 Sport running on twin Webers (or it would have been when first registered)
The Nova came with a single Pieburg carb, and Irmischer UK (GM tuning company) sent the 'Sport' pack to the dealership - fitted after registration.
pre-jetted pair of Webers, different rear exhaust back box, and various pipes, cables, and brackets, so that everything fitted.

As Griff says, the Nova is the special car Phil.

I'm having a bit of bother getting my head round the words "Nova" and "special" being in the same sentence. Unless it's describing the average driver, when you'd normally see "needs" in there as well.

Although, I'm informed by Someone Who Knows About These Things that a Nova Sport is supposedly quite desirable these days. But then, he's got an MGB, so... ;)

If you must know - my first car, at the age of 12 was this £50 beauty... Complete with electrician's tape go faster stripes to aid my travels around the small field I learned to drive in. Boy was I cool

Doesn't help that I also used to help on the service crew for this car, back in my teenage years:

Since then I've always hankered for a Nova Sport - a proper homologation special!

Already spoken to John ;)

Sadly I've done a bit more research since (There is a great deal of info on the Nova Sport Register website!) and it's engineless and probably too far gone, realistically... I've got enough on my plate!

Only thing of use would be the identities.

...which, hopefully, could be changed to protect the innocent? ;)

But nearly £66K for a Nova?? Since when did an inlet manifold and a pair of Webers cost £65,850??? (based on values of yer average Novas.) To think, peeps on here were amazed at that £38K paid at auction for that Beta-engine Hawk a few weeks back....relative bargain?

And going back a few posts, isn't it amazing, seeing the differences of what people consider "cool"? Hahahaha! :) :)

What people might not know is that GM hedged its bets, producing the carburettor version for the UK, and a fuel injected version for German consumption.
Tony Fall (ex works Mini driver) was the GM motorsport manager at the time, and later formed Safety Devices.
Interestingly, the 'alternative' camshaft for both cars was so peaky that you had to machine the head, otherwise you ran into valve spring coil binding, which was a very quick way to a new engine!!!

Well it might be some kind of optical illusion, but looking at that exhaust manifold it appears to have a 5-cylinder engine in there...OK, NOW it's getting interesting! (Still not £60-odd K's worth tho) :)

Ah, so it kind of averages out at 4 cylinders....got it
