Hi, I am seeking a new home for my late father's beloved Lancia Stratos Transformer.
This was the second replica Stratos he built with much love, care, blood & tears.
Since his passing myself & my sisters have been tasked with finding a new home where it will receive all the care & attention it yearns for. Can anyone assist us with this mission?

Hi Paula, I see you've managed to register OK.
Could you let us know more details of the car, engine size etc. If you have any photos, I can upload them if you would like to email them?

Further to Paula's post, here is an image.
I believe the car is located in county Durham, hope I've got that right.

Many thanks John, you're a legend. Yes, you're right, the car is located in County Durham. Year of manufacture is 1989. Engine size is 1995cc.

Paula mentioned her father Was Alan Cox. I'm sure one or two will remember Alan as a Club official many moons ago?

One of the founding members I think John.. Sorry to hear he passed away. I'm sure that there will be interest via this site, there was a car sold recently at auction for a great result (despite improper documents?) so that or eBay may be options? Has anyone seen the car recently?

Thank you Guy, we miss him. I am currently arranging access to assess & value the car so will have more information once that is completed.

He was Guy. That's some time ago, when you were in short trousers. I remember his red car but not this later one.

Hi Paula... So sorry to hear about your Dad Alan... I also met him many years ago at the first meets we had... His Red car car passed through the hands of Jerry Bailey and was repainted in Chequered Flag colours (sort of)...... But I have not seen this one though.... Hopefully we can get some interest through the club for your sale.
Condolences Phil

Thank you Phil, your condolences are much appreciated. Lol. I'm not sure how Dad would have felt about the chequered flag colours. I know he took great pride in creating his Italia flag Stratos. Paula

Phil,

See photo attached.
This is the red car that Jerry B. bought.
The owner was from, I think, Wetwang on the Yorkshire Wolds.
If I remember correctly, he was a racing driver and often came to visit Tim Green's (another race driver) paint shop in Malton.

Hiya Paula - glad to have you on here, although not in the best of circumstances, so condolences from me too. :(

But here's a thought: you seem quite well-up on yer Dad's old motor, and it obviously means something special, so, er, why don't you keep it and use it yourself, even if only occasionally? I'm sure there are people on here who can help to keep it running and on the road. Unless, that is, that "Gold Coast" location on yer profile really is the one in Oz, which makes it a bit of a trek to pop over for a whiz round the block...!

Still, if it has to go, good luck with the sale.

Cheers!

Norm

Hi Guys, looks alot like Dad's.

Hello Norm, many thanks for your message and kind condolences. I am very humbled by how many people crossed paths with Dad & remember him so fondly. I think he would be pleased to know I am in contact with you all. Alas, Gold Coast is in Queensland & although my son, who is in the industry, would relish whizzing around Surfers Paradise on a Sunday arvo in this spectacular car. The Stratos has been Willed to myself and my two sisters along with 3 Fiats and we made a decision to sell all as it would be fair. Also, the Stratos deserves a home where it will be cherished and appreciated fully.

Paula,
Sorry for your loss. While you are dealing with this you might as well tell everybody here what those Fiats are as there are a few fans of that marque here.

Hi Colin, thank you! We are certainly feeling the loss of Dad. He passed away whilst on holiday in Mexico during February. Fiats include; 2004 Stilo, 2006 Croma & Punto already spoken for. Thanks again. P

You might still be right Phil?
What I'm 100% sure of, is that the red car in the advert is the one that Jerry immediately converted to group 4 and painted in the last CF colours.

I remember Jerry saying it had a cream/white dash panel..... Alan's was the only one that I knew had this...

Hi John, just an update on developments. We have managed to arrange for someone to collect the Fiat Stilo this Saturday. If you know of someone who can view/assess/value the Stratos at the same time, I can arrange this. P

Car and Classic is a very good place to advertise a Stratos replica. It's free and gets lots of views:

'Bit of fight for this very similar car recently:

Many thanks for your reply John. I believe next Saturday is an option. We have requested more information from Dad's partner but is slow coming. P

My first car was definitely Alan Cox's first car, and I bought it from Driffield. Here is a picture of it converted to GPs 4 Martini together with Dave Watson's car. We are even in the background.13191

Omg! Thanks so much for your post & photo Jerry. That looks absolutely awesome. I vividly recall how happy Dad was when he built this car. We gals were very proud of him. I am going to call my sisters right away. Thanks for taking the time to resolve the question. P

Really sorry to hear about your dad Paula, but you can be justifiably proud of him because he built the car really well, and this was in the days before a knowledgeable forum like this was about to help people. Here is a later photo of the car in a different colour scheme, ( the black and white one) same venue but different villains in the background.

Best wishes

Jerry

Thank you so much Jerry, for your kind words, they mean alot to us. We haven't had the opportunity to speak to many people who met Dad as we were not together as a family for many years. Working with Lancias was Dad's true vocation. Many passed through our driveways over the years & we all have fond memories of our times as grease monkeys. I sincerely hope the person who buys his latest Stratos will love it as much as he did. I can't believe that's the original red car!! They're so versatile & all look stunning. It's reassuring to see them evolve & have an healthy lifespan. If you happen to have any photos of Dad mingling around with the usual suspects in the background, we'd love to see him in action. Thanks again, your time is much appreciated. Regards, P
