Good morning,

I wondered if someone could tell me what size the lights would be within the loghtpod of an original stratos? I believe there are only two sizes 5 and 1/2 inch and 7 inch .

Would anyone have any advice on what to use to cut the holes and if a template is available ?

thank you
Paul

7 inch Paul. Although I'm led to believe that the works cars had a slightly larger light, taken for stock for the front of trains.... Also used as runway approach lights apparently. I'm still trying to find out where
No specific templates but if you use a lamp nest to carry the unit then that'll give you the correct template easily enough.

Car builder solutions or ebay probably the best bet. I used 4x sealed beam units in the lamp pod of Frederics Corse and they worked fine. You can spend a lot more money on big Hella units if you want to!
Mini sport will have plastic headlamp bowls you can cut down to form the mounting flange to fit in the pod if you draw a blank on ready made ones.

PIAAs with their own mounting flanges. The Flanges cost about the same as the lamps! :(. £435 in lamps and surrounds right there.......

Depends whether you want ultimate light or authentic looks.
One of these https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/lazer-lamps-st-12-evolution-ece-approved-led-light-in-black-lzr0012-evo-b/ would fit in the pod, hidden by the cover most of the time.

Don't worry, Pete. It's just "light" humour. And yes, I'm beaming :)
