I was chatting to Rob Whitehouse in Hoznayo. He said he had had two original cars in the past. This obviously being one of them. Despite owning an 037 these days he said he still hankered after another Stratos and would even consider a replica which I thought was very even minded for someone who had experienced the real thing. And maybe an acknowledgement of how far replicas have come on in the past thirty years?

That, Griff, is precisely the point I've been trying to make in my Rant posts - that, and the fact that others, as John says above, are now considering "replicas" instead of a genuine car. Doesn't mean all replicas are equal, as they're all built to individual specs, but they're all valuable motors now. And to think I sold my Allora for £6K back in '92...boo-hoo, etc.

As it happens, I'm hoping to make an announcement sometime soon over the whole "recognition of replicas" thing which could well move us even further into acceptance by the mainstream, so keep an eye out for that!
