Painted the bare aluminium and covered in v expensive Zircoflex self adhesive heat shield. Only used to start the car for mapping sessions, removed because I bought a Brise unit. £50 + postage.

X1/9 handbrake. Original plastic grip removed and replaced by a black anodised aluminium grip. One tiny, tiny mark on the grip but only just visible. Some marks on the paint of the arm but the grip is easily removable if you want to repaint it. £40 + postage.

It's well-known that Leigh lost his grip quite some time ago, about 3 weeks into his build if I remember correctly ;)
