Agree. He was the voice of F1 for me.

Amazing life, tank commander in WW2, motorcycle racer, worked in advertising (worked on on the team that came up with 'a mars a day helps you work rest and play' and is credited with coming up with 'Opal Fruits, made to make your mouth water.') and became a 'legend' in commentary.

Didn't know he was once in advertising. Does all this now mean we'll see a reintroduction of the famous Murray Mints, and were they in fact his idea?? (you remember - "Murray Mints, Murray Mints, the too good to hurry mints"

I read his autobiography 'unless I'm very much mistaken' a couple of years ago. A cracking read! He was quite a legend.
