I knew this car very well when it was in the UK!

Wow! - Good to see Tim's old car again. Saw this a few times at our local meetings. Lovely car.

Forgive me for thinking of this as Gary Pickens old car!

Thanks Guy for finding this. Yes it WAS Gary’s car, but an unfinished non-running project when I bought it. I am pleased to see the new owner (of 2 years now), has not changed anything. The car is still as I sold it driving superbly and still sporting LMC club stickers and Mph speedometer (I threw in a Kph speedo as part of the sale)! I had great fun with Shades but as with all great cars one does not own them as so much be a point in time custodian.

If the roads in the UK were like the smooth empty roads of the south of France I probably would still Shades in my garage!

Time to buy it back Tim? You could keep it at your place in France? You won't get a better opportunity than now I guess? Plus it's registered in France which must take some of the hassle out of it?

Assuming someone doesn't beat you to it and repatriate Shades?

On Facebook now. I am not selling even though there is a picture of my car outside my house.....

Bought from me to do gentle rallies for his daughter and wife to participate. In particular the Princess rally. Apparently Shades is too loud (Princess...). Rather than fit a different silencer he is eying up a Beetle in drag (Porsche 356). From the sublime to the ridiculous.

Tim, don't let it get to you. If he's ended up buying the wrong car, more fool him for not doing due diligence. You can't blame him for looking at a Porsche though - they seem to be the make of car that lots of Lancia and Strat owners move to at some point....
