No, it's not been mentioned on here.

That photo of Munari going off on the 1975 RAC has just come to light.
My brother showed me it on his phone, so I'm guessing it was on one of the Facebook 'old rally photos' pages?

Interesting thing for me in that series of pics is the Triumph 2.5/2000 saloon.
We all know the Stag came from the 2000 but why is a saloon still in Mico's facility in 1974?

Nicked from ARO online.............................

It was early in 1964 when Giovanni Michelotti (https://www.aronline.co.uk/?s=Giovanni+Michelotti) asked Triumph design chief, Harry Webster (https://www.aronline.co.uk/?s=Harry+Webster), whether it would be possible possible for the company to donate a used example of the recently-launched Triumph 2000 (http://www.aronline.co.uk/cars/triumph/2000-2500/). The reason for this request was simple – Michelotti wanted to produce a glamorous one-off motor show special and use it as a showcase for the emerging designer’s talents.
Given the relationship between the Michelotti and Triumph was rock solid by this time, Webster said that he would gladly hand over one of the company’s race support cars after it had finished with the car. There was a proviso, though: if Triumph liked the design, then it would have first refusal on putting it into production.
In June of that year, Triumph duly delivered its 2000 following the Le Mans 24-Hour race – and now it was up to Michelotti exercise his creative talents.

It's not generally known that various elements of all these cars eventually came together in the Lancia Stratos. Gandini was an avid Michelotti fan, and greatly admired his work with Triumph. In fact, a prototype was created using the motor from a Spitfire 1500 mounted over a transverse Mini/1100 gearbox, but BL were unwilling to supply units for the production car, and so Lancia were forced to use the Dino V6 instead. Just imagine what could have been....

Was that before or after the diesel 2CV engined Stratos prototype that Gian Paolo Dallara was developing?

Yes Chris, but after they'd scrapped the front wheel drive version using the Alfa 1.7 boxer installation. Thought were a sodding big fuel tank in the back for long distance endurance events....
