Wanted:

Any good working Fiat X1/9 headlamp lift motors, as well as any link rods.
'No rush, and can wait until the AGM at Stoneleigh.

Thanks for any help.

Can probably sort some out for you Chris. Not certain about the "good working" but though. You could try them? Coming up your way 28th March for a retirement do. Remind me again before then unless someone else comes up trumps.

Do they have to be x19.
what about MX5, MR2 or even Ford Probe. Plenty on ebay
I thought they could do the job, and I think it is what I have

Do they have to be x19.

They have to be X1/9 in this case Steve.
'Hopeless buying from the EU or US these days.
I just wondered if (because replica builders use Mazda M5 Mk1 motors) that there may be some redundant X1/9 lift motors lying around.
It doesn't look like it?

I have got some Chris. Might be four. Just not sure on condition. I won't be using them. Even on the Allora. I'd much rather use the Ford/Mazda motors.

Thanks John,

Did the Probe have them?
Didn't that use the 626 floorpan?

Yes Chris. Was a bit of an oddity the Probe wasn't it.
Neighbour had one in his 'collection'. Same Mazda motors.

Hi Chris - you still after a link rod - going through boxes of stuff and may have found one.

If you can spare it Andrew?, then yes, thank you.

Will that do you?

I will have a look and see if I can match up any other bits - Looks like John has you sorted for motors but if not give me a shout as they were used by Ginetta on the G32. A mate of mine may have a couple spare - May need new diodes - I had to replace a few on my G32's - May even have some left over!

The link rod's the right one Andrew.
As far as motors go, only if you can spare them.
Diodes are easily sorted, usually.

Are you collecting them Chris!?
I have found two more off the Allora. I think those I dropped off for you must have been spares which came with Allen's car. Have you tried them?

Hi John,

They're actually wiper motors, but are of use.
I've not tested them.

I've just found those headlamp rims that Andrew was asking about, whilst I was looking for something else.
When I was looking for the headlamp rims, a while ago, I couldn't find them.

I think it's Stoneleigh that might be prompting Andrew to ask. 'Only guessing.

Oh god, are they really?!
Ha! Well I've never fitted any FIAT headlamp motors, so not surprised I got it wrong. There are definitely 2 in the Allora bits.

They do look a bit alike.
As I say, if you're using MX5 motors, then I'll have any unwanted heavy unreliable Fiat motors.;)

Do you still need some X19 headlamp motors?

I do have some spares though not sure of condition. Some are smaller bodies than the others.
Would assume at least that diodes need replacing (need to do that for the ones on my car tbh).
