Rather than have a last minute rush like last year I thought it might be useful to start the New Year Calandar task a bit earlier this year !

Therefore can I please have your submissions for next year's calendar. Preferably shots taken in the last year, file size minimum 5Mb - but not too large or it will involve a lot of technical jiggery pokery which I am not able to deal with.

Please send your photos to: cutlerpj@aol.com

Many thanks - and looking forward to seeing some great Stratos shots!

Great timing.
I got a great one of mine at the weekend showing how well they hold the road under heavy braking.
I'll send over the high res version later.

I was expecting to hear from you Jim - so let's see what you've got ! I've promised Norm that it wont be 13 shots of the Scottish flyer but could manage one or possibly 2 !

Ah, I'm not sure if any of my snapshots are up to the level required.
I'm gonna have a go at some light painting this week and see how that goes.

Peter sent a few over.
Great afternoon whilst trying to take something a bit different. The number of people that were out enjoying the countryside that just stopped for a chat. The young lad, apparently car mad was with his grandad who remembered the Stratos. The horse riders were amazing and posed for quite a few Horsepower v Horsepower shots.
Unfortunately reversed into Debs car on the drive whilst turning round. 1-0 to the LB. Lower rear arch scuffed, polished out. Merc nice crease in lower valance. Me doghouse as usual.

I have just been on the Girardo website, there is a great photo taken recently of four stratos in the Alps. I didn't know how it would lay as regards permission posting it here.

I'm sure they would be approachable, if not that image. Perhaps others?

More photos of your cars please - you must have some good shots taken on the various runs / garage days / shows etc attended this year - please select the best and send them to me if you would like a whole month of focus in the 2023 calendar !

Thanks

Hi
I went out into the garden today. Washed the car and then dried it with chamois, washed the wheels and then it started to rain.
Give me a day or two please for sun.
It's grim up north

I have emailed some different screen snips to you in low res.
Please chose the style you like and then I can mail the high res version.

I have been assembling the photos for the calendar and this year we have an opportunity to put 2 or even 3 photos per month. I'd like to keep them of the same car in any one month - so all you proud owners please send more photos . I need to fill another 6 months .

I already have some good shots from Steve (Hollytree), Neil , John Griffin and Jim Crosby but now need more . How about one from Norm (I need a good yellow shot - especially with blue wheels ) , Leigh (ditto a good bright green shot) and anyone else who got a car registered in the last year - but all club member car shots welcome.

One last effort please guys - preferably all Club cars ! (high resolution images - 5Mb file size or thereabouts and not thumbnails)

Many thanks everyone

I still have 3 spaces left in the calendar to fill - come on guys - one last push to dig out those pictures please.

If you dont want a calendar full of all the latest Lister Bell cars please feel free to let me have your photos of other makes which we know are also available - well alright Hawk mainly - but it would be good to see some of the excellent older cars that I know we have in the club . A car shot plus maybe a couple of detail shots say of the engine bay or interior as well as a profile (main) shot would be good. We can use up to 3 photos per month - one bigger shot plus two smaller of the same car.

PLEASE - and ASAP

many thanks

Peter

I have a lot of older photos Peter but sadly nothing approaching 5mb. What is the smallest file size you can use?

Stratos Fear
06-11-2022, 17:52
Hi John - I've just loaded some at around 1.7Mb and they seem to work ok. The calendar software is a bit more sophisticated than it was a few years back so I think it may be more tolerant now of smaller file sizes. Let's give it a try !

I have a spare 9,732 pics of one if you get stuck.

Happy to photoshop them yellow so it looks like Norms or make them out of focus so it looks like a Hawk. (Joke!!)

Thanks Jim - hopefully no photoshopping needed now as I've completed the line up for the calendar. I dont know why it is but I seem to get very few new or newish Hawk owners submitting photos - it seems the LB builders are more sociable among the recent builds - or is that too controversial a statement? - although of course we have some solid and active members who built their cars a few years ago - he said, (trying not to alienate or annoy the stalwart Hawk owners.)

Jim why not a special Alitalia Rally Car Jim Crosby Special Edition to use up some of those 9,732 images - at your expense of course!

Chaps, sorry about this, but we may have to restrict the number of copies we send to members. Reason is that last year, we ordered 100 and ended up with quite a few left over, so this year we ordered 50 (it was either 50 or 100, couldn't have 75). So, once we've set up the ordering/payment stuff, we'll let y'all know along with how many per person at that stage (probably one, to start with). If, after a decent period has elapsed, there are still some left, it'll be first come first served. And if demand is there, we might be able to order another 50.
Anyhow, we'll let you know when, how many and what to do shortly....

OK, calendar update: price will be ?14 plus ?2 P&P, worldwide. It's looking like you'll pay Peter Cutler (Stratos Fear on here) by PayPal, as he curated it, got them printed and holds the stock. However, he's away for a few days right now, so you'll be able to order when he's back - we'll start a completely new thread for this with full instructions. Don't fret, it won't be long.... ;)

Hi Peter, thanks. That I will do. I’m afraid that there hasn’t been much progress during the past year. Decisions, still haven’t fully made up my mind on a power unit; plus time has been a little short. Hopefully next year there will be some physical action.

Awesome, after your saying there were only 2 left above thought I might have been out of luck. Money sent, address in PP comment.

It can go next to the Emily Blunt calendar. Not sure which is the most distracting, does that mean I'm getting old? :D

Well Andy, I suggest you try getting Our Em to take you a coupla hundred miles to a car do, then stand in a field to be ogled and photographed by old men, some of whom will ask if they can see "under the bonnet", while you wander round looking at cars and bikes. Or even get her to take you to a nice pub or restaurant, and again she can hang around in the car park till you return, half-cut, to be taken home.... she won't be like a Strat - just fire up on demand and get you back to your gaff. Bet she'd make more noise about it though. :) :)

Edge of Tomorrow was the first time I really noticed her, but she's been in a lot of films now. Heck, she made Mary Poppins look hot, which takes some doing :D

She's obviously got a bit of staying power... Maybe the SEC should adopt her as an unofficial mascot?

Wonder if we can get her in a Stratos for next years calendar?

Had there been some left, the club could have sent her a calendar with a note saying that as we seem to be turning into the Emily Blunt Enthusiast Club, would she like her picture taken in one of our cars for the next calendar :D
