Would anyone have or know a source for Lancia Beta Series 1 door mirror mounts and gaskets?

Are there mounts and gaskets from other mirrors which would fit?

I might have a gasket and mounting bar as i just put together two pairs of door mirrors for Gerry's tin cars.

I could not have done this without the help of Chris Jarvis's research for the asymmetric left one and Betaboyz who helped find scrap parts. The project involved the remanufacture (in stainless steel) of the stems which are (deliberately) weak. The originals are a chromed mazak casting and hollow so they'll shear off if needed. I have also had the glass for the Beta mirror remade as they are usually broken, discoloured or scratched. If you try to dismantle them they'll probably break.

If you want to replicate the left side mirror please let me know and I'll see what I can do to help but you'll need further Beta mirror components, basically the stem downwards!

The only other donor I am aware of is the Lancia Beta saloon for the base and seal. But not all of them! The only ones I've ever seen for sale are these and I've never bothered to ask for a shipping price for the pair they've had for a while and ae now accepting offers on.

Looks like a really good job Guy! Have you got any pictures of the fronts. I didn't know that the mirrors were not symmetrical. Amazing what you learn on here.

Here's the 2 sets from the front Peter.

And this link to what might be an original Stratos one

although this has a plastic head I suspect the original had a metal one. This mirror has the correct stem and base which the Beta ones match exactly.

Here's a metal headed mirror, the chrome looks pitted in these pictures but nothing a little work with a Dremel wouldn't remove, blob of filler and a few coats of paint and it'll look as good as new. This one has to be dismantled fully to allow the stem to be changed for the correct one and also needs the correct Beta base, gasket and fixing bar sourcing.

Disassembly is fraught with danger. The glass is very easily broken, especially on the Beta ones that are secured with 4 serrated washers on posts that fit into cups on the back of the plastic holder. The asymmetric ones only have three and seem to come apart more easily. If you're stripping any for painting I'd also recommend replacing the grub screws in the bases with a stainless steel one. Originals can corrode in place and crack the base nearest the gasket.
