Hi all.

Aside from Longstone, are there any other decent sources (in the UK) of tyres for the wider rims? I'm not adverse to using Longstone - just always like to have a couple of options in case of supply issues.

I'm going to need some 305/35 R15 and 235/45 R15. A set of road tyres, and also a set or two for hill climbing. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Justin.

If your talking Michelin TB15 or P7 Corsa then its probably Demon Tweeks, Vintage tyres .com, Borrani.com show some stock
I've gone more modern Nankang AR1

On the Nankangs what's the overall diameter of the rear tyre once it's fitted to the wheel rim?

Longstone have always waived the VAT for me (SEC member)
It's a while since I've bought any new TBs, mind.

Not having the VAT applied would certainly make a difference.
I'm not sure what is 'standard' as far as wheel sizes go, but my rims are 12" wide for the back, and 8" for the front. I couldn't really find any modern alternative in a 15" diameter and suitable for a 12" wide rim from Demon Tweaks. I'll keep looking.
Thanks for suggestions so far though.

For TB15s, people have chosen either 295 or 335 for 12" rims.
215 for 8" rims. Here's a photo of Vince Abbott's car on 295 rears:

275/35R15 AR1 is 575mm mounted on 10.00" They will get me going initially for 1 set of wheels
Track reviews are extremely positive + read a review of someone in Germany driving 3500kms on the road with them

If you've taken that measurement yourself it's with 2mm of Nankang's published info on their site.

I wish they made the NS-2R in the same sizes as the AR-1.

575mm diameter is quite small in a Stratos arch. I'm using 585 diameter and as well as looking small, to get the correct chassis ride height at the erar the dampers are hitting the end of travel on full droop. the arch-filling tyres have a diameter of about 600 - 610mm.

I went through all this a few months ago.
The overall diameter of the Continental Premium Contact 6 that I fitted seems to be 644mm.

I am worried now though, as it appears KwikFit used the 94Y tyre and that is not one of the permitted rim sizes for my 10J wheels!.
What do I do now!!

Yes 600mm would be better as i'm building my own chassis with 037 type suspension / geometry, with 3 multi hole suspension pick up locations, ie 3 different ride heights i will have more scoop for various tyre diameters as I later build additional wheel sets

P7 Corsa
235/45R15 = 592mm
285/40R15 = 610mm
305/35R15 = 590mm

Michelin TB15
215/55R15 = 615mm
270/45R15 = 625mm
295/40R15 = 615mm
345/35R15 = 621mm

Michelin TB5
225/50R15 = 605mm
270/45R15 = 620mm
285/40R15 = 610mm
335/35R15 = 616mm

Does anyone know if these are road legal - look a little odd for IVA?

Michelin TB5f and TB5r are both road legal semi slicks dont know about IVA but if they are road legal you would presume IVA compliant hopefully somebody else can answer the IVA question.
