It’s with a very saddened and heavy heart I share a very bad news today with our friend and fellow member Michel passed away a few day after his sweet and lovely wife Nicole.

Plenty gents and people know him as he was involved during his whole life in sportcar in first as pilot ( he raced several time in 24 h Le Mans ) and after as a builder and engineer which worked a long time in his friend team Henri Pescarolo.
Nicole also was involved in race and worked as hostess and translator in 24 H du Mans.
Of course you followed with a lot of interest and pleasure his posts on forum about Le Mans STR car he built in first and designed with Listerbell and Craig White

It’s a big loss of two friends as I shared very good moments and memories in Britanny Le Mans Charade and Stoneleigh with them

I found them a lovely couple and was pleased to help him source a few small parts from UK sellers.

Very sad news indeed Frederic.
We have many happy memories of the times both Michel & Nicole spent at our workshop, our home & also from when we visited them in Brittany.
Michel was very passionate about whatever project he got involved in & for the Stratos he would spend hours looking at how he could save weight by adding holes or introducing some exotic material in place of the normal steel or GRP.
He had to be active and his mind couldn't rest, after retirement he built many things, the Porsche 908 replica, a microlight & a Lotus replica to name but a few.
He regaled us many times with stories of his time at LeMans as both a engineer and as a driver & we will never forget his obsession with carbon fibre nor the way he pronounced it with his accent.
Up until recently Michel was still reading this forum regularly but unfortunately he no longer posted which is a shame as his exploits were worth sharing.

Sad news. I met Michel once on a trip over to LB and watched the development of the STR Le Mans with great interest. He was clearly a talented and passionate engineer.

This is really sad news.
I only met Michel on a few occasions but he was clearly an accomplished practical engineer with a great deal of experience in motorsport and an eye for detail, the one thing I remember most was him drilling out the centres of all the bolts during his car build to save something like 1.5kg (he weighed the swarf !.. apparently that would be approx 1 second per lap of le Mans !)

He was a proper life long enthusiast.

Thank you for all your messages and condolences I have sent to their family,
Their both funerals were last week end near their home in Brittany.
A lot of testimony were received from all the Racing and sportcar world!

If you have the chance to attend 24 du mans once; you could visit the museum and admire the models of all the cars raced there (more 2000 models) they have been built by Michel himself and he offered his collection to the 24h du Mans museum a few years ago!

This is indeed very sad news. ��. I had met him at Stoneleigh in 2016 and concur with all of the sentiments expressed before. I had often wondered what had become of him. I remember particularly his obsession with weight saving!
May they both rest in peace..��������
