Wanted:
Just one side repeater with studs intact.
I've got a pair but one out of the four studs is turning, as usual.
Or I'll have to buy a new pair. They're not expensive.
I might have one - I'll check later today.
We are talking the Fulvia 'teardrop' shape?

Yes that's right Leigh. Thanks for looking.

No Robin, once the square hole in the thin metal is undermined you've had it. It's a sealed compartment, the lens is not separate to the rest of the lamp, as it would be on a larger lamp.

Drill the stud out, put a rivnut in with a bit of araldite to make sure.
araldite a long bolt into the rivnut and then cut the head off.
now you will have a new stud that does not turn - hopefully

You can't fix them Steve. It's an age old bugbear with teardrop side repeaters. Rusty nut/stud overcomes the strength of the captive end (square section of the stud in a square hole in very thin metal.
For the pair of repeaters I managed to save three out of the four studs.

Possibly. I'm currently wrestling with headlamp pods.

Being aware of this issue back in 1988 (!) when I found 2 crashed Fulvia in the local scrapyard I removed them by cutting them out. This allowed the nuts to be cut off carefully and the rusted threads cleaned. I suspect that they'll be rusted again now! But as Chris says, once the bolt head inside the lamp unit starts turning it's the end of it. Disassembly is possible but bending the tabs back is fraught with risks! Easier to replace with new. I'll have a look see if I've got one Chris! If you wanted a new pair Gerry has a small stock at the moment of newly made ones.

I got an IVA fail with the Fulvia indicators ahead of the front arch. I had to fit punto side repeaters rear of the front arch to get a pass and then fill the temporary holes and put the Fulvia ones back on.

The angle of visibility when fitting the side repeater forward of the arch is the only problem I've really experienced with the Fulvia set up. The 5 degree rearward visibility angle is the issue but sitting the light unit on a small pedestal resolves this.

Thanks Guy,
I can get a new pair for 33.16 pounds. I've already fitted them as far as putting the holes in the bodywork, so I don't desperately need them just yet.
Possible IVA issues with these need mentioning. 'Hopefully not my worry.

Leigh, no need to look, I've bought a new pair.
Thanks very much for offering.
Hi Chris
I went looking and couldn't find it!

Are rubber boots available for side repeaters?
There's these from Classic Alfa (https://classicalfa.com/rb094-early-side-repeater-cable-boots-pair/), but I don't know if they fit?

Not fitted on mine, but never had any water issues.
Now you make me think about doing something.... aargh...
Now! I think I have one of those! I saw it the other day. Will check tomorrow.

Thanks Leigh,
Heat shrink could be the alternative Steve.

Chris
Thanks.
I was worried about water spray and just went to look, but it projects through the body inside the headlamp pod compartment, so is pretty much shielded from water
Arrggh....just realised you mean a boot for the wires and not the rubber that fits between the indicator and the body - which is what I have.
Sorry!

Yes, it's all inside the headlamp box Steve, but it's good practice to have any terminals sealed. 'Like in the boot, for example.
Leigh, 'don't worry about it, thanks.
'Talking about the gaskets, there are two types, and I'm sure I've probably got the wrong ones. Some have a curve on the underside, which must be to fit the Fulvia wing profile?
