I thought I had got over lying under cars about 20 years ago.
Cortina Mk2 1500GT followed by Opel Manta and then Escort Mk2 RS2000 (stolen and never recovered) when I was in my early 20s.
In my late 20s to mid 30s, I restored a Sunbeam Alpine Series V with Holbay head and twin 40 Webers. I went to an Alpine rally and saw (heard) a Tiger.
Restored a Tiger - V8, single branch headers, 4 barrel Holley carb, Jag IRS axle with LSD. Had a daughter and had to pay the mortage etc, so the Tiger had to go.
I thought that was the last of mucking about with cars.
Then managed to get in position to purchase some decent cars for family use.
Impreza Turbo in 98 for 4 years (great car), followed by Golf VR6 for 9 months (awful car) and have been driving BMW E39 M5 since 2001 (great car and still like new).
I have always liked the fabulous Stratos shape, but never thought there would be a way to get one.
I broke my foot rock climbing at Xmas and being in plaster for 6 weeks allowed me to read the web and find oit more about Hawk and Napier.
I managed to talk to Lionel who put me in touch with Brian in S Wales who had a part built Corse I that seems to have been 'kicking around' since 2006.
I am now the proud owner of said chassis, 3L V6 Alfa engine and gearbox and loads of other bits in envelopes.
I will put my progress in the other section on NapierSport cars.
