Corse I part built project for Sale
After much thought and soul searching, I have decided to put my Stratos project up for sale. It might be a decision I will regret, but other projects are taking my time and I am not progressing with the Stratos as I should.
I am putting this on the forum initially to give genuine Stratos enthusiast?s the opportunity to purchase this car. I will advertise elsewhere, in due course if not sold via this site.
The chassis is a Corse I with independent suspension at each corner. When purchased it was built to accept a Honda engine, but I returned the chassis to Guest Engineering in Skipton (the original chassis manufacturer) to convert it to accept an Alfa Engine.
The Chassis has been powder coated and is it is fitted with a 3 ltr Alfa 24 valve V6, with a five-speed gearbox, with new clutch and slave cylinder, timing belt and tensioner. New custom-made drive shafts and new universal joints. All suspension is fitted with new A V O adjustable coil overs, new disks and callipers, with stainless steel braded brake lines throughout. A new Tilton biased brake box is in place. New radiator, heater and coolant pipes are fitted. The suspension is fully rose jointed, with all new swivel and steering rack components. New Image wheels and new tyres.
Most of the parts to complete the build, are included, to many to list here but include, Fire extinguisher and plumbing, battery box, new seats, 6point belts, new wiring harness with all relays, fuses etc. Group 4 Dashboard and standard dashboard options, switches, gauges and controls. Wiper motor and mechanism. Heater and controls and pipe work. Headlight mountings and motors. External front and rear lights and side indicators, front and rear clams with grill, roof spoiler and roof air vent. A set of square group four rear arches. Mud flaps and mountings. Doors, door internal panels, side windows, door catches, handles and locks.
Included is a wheeled chassis stand. Many other bits, nuts bolts and assorted fastenings.
I have the donor V5 and receipts for all major parts purchased, along with the original Corse build manual and Alfa Romeo workshop manuals. Lots of other Alfa parts.
Sorry to be blunt but, I will only sell as a complete package. I will not sell individual bits. Any potential buyer is welcome to come and view and inspect the car and parts. But please a word of caution, I am not interested in wasting my time (and yours) so please don?t contact me if you only want to look / dream / swap / or don?t have the funds.
This is a rare chance to obtain a Stratos Replica, I am open to sensible offers. I have attached a few pictures, many more are available. As an initial contact please PM me.

You're right, Simon - you WILL regret it. What you've got there looks pretty good to me and is surely a hit-the-ground-running type of project. I dunno....you've clearly put a lot of time and money into it, so you must be quite attached to it. Can't you stick it to one side somewhere till you've sorted your other stuff, then come back to it?
Re: Corse I part built project for Sale
A fellow Corse I owner virtually on the doorstep - who knew. And a square arch GRP 4 at that. There we are working on Ginetta's in Willaston every Wednesday for the past (more than a) few years and there was a Corse I a few streets away . Would have been interesting to see how different/similar our cars are. You are a lot further on from where I am with my rebuild - would have been nice to bounce things off another owner. May have got me more motivated than just building G15's - Hopefully you sell it locally - LOL
Good luck with the sale I do hope you get a good number for it -

Mine is a mongrel ..... Hybrid would have been a nicer description but that just creates confusion these days. Excuse the wheels I am still waiting for tyres to be fitted to the replacements.

Normb666. You'r right on so many parts, yes Time, money, regrets and attachment. But I am not doing it justice being sat in my garage not being touched. Hopefully it will go to a person who is able to finish and enjoy it.
Re: Corse I part built project for Sale
Hi Darkspeed. Didn't realise you are so close. You are more that welcome to come and have a look at the car, have a chat and may even ignite both our motivation. Send me a PM and I will return my contact details and address.

Hi Simon - PM inbound I have just recently started to gain a bit of momentum with mine after years of being dormant - Too much time spent fixing up old Ginetta's - looking forward to meeting up - If I can provide any motivation for you to progress keep/finish the car I will certainly give it a try.

There is certainly a little cluster of unfinished replicas in our geographical area isn't there?
Hoping to get to Oulton on the 5th Simon.

Fixed that for you ;)

I love an optimist!
I would certainly like to make some progress soon.
Re: Corse I part built project for Sale
Well I have reached a stage where its further along than it has ever been although it all has to come apart again ! Having it make a noise was motivational - although the fuel cost for those few minutes was quite alarming. At the moment I have momentum with the build and working on maintaining it.

Probably ought to stop bumping this thread otherwise Simon will have offers he cannot refuse and the opportunity to go see another Corse I in the flesh will be gone.
