Re: Stratos for Sale - NEC
'Same photo Guy.
The title is different though. 1975 on one, and 2001 on the other, and described as "white".???
The NEC auction listing is a guide of 280,000 to 330,000 pounds.
By the way, we've still got question marks instead of pounds signs on this forum. Hey ho.

Apologies for the duplicated thread! When I clicked on the other one it didn't bring up any pictures on the Mac Book... That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

We have discussed the car before:
Obviously a mountain of work done since then, and now perfect for historic rallying.
Re: Stratos for Sale - NEC
I've skimmed through the previous thread and have to own up to being a little confused......
Phil Hotham (is he still the owner?) said "....My Stratos is a genuine stratos It was built by Marchesi in Italy for me on the original Jigs and tooling and the fiberglass parts where also produced in Italy.....I also have a Nova and heritage dating certificate documents so it can be registered onto a V5c log book.....With a stratos chassis number on the documents which is 1974"
So if it was built for him, rather than bought as a complete car from Lancia, can it really be a "genuine" car and considered as an original? I don't know whether it has appropriate "matching" engine and chassis numbers?
Also, for those with more than my limited knowledge on such matters, what is the considered opinion on value?
Guide price is ?280-330k which seems pretty good value (particularly if it really is a genuine/original) when replicas have been selling for more than ?100k....
Re: Stratos for Sale - NEC
You're not the only one confused Gerry. Me too.
And short of a full explanation I'd guess a fair few more people.
My view is if it didn't come off the Bertone production line in 1974 with a build record as in the Trow book example, then it isn't an original Stratos.

Thanks John
Glad it's not just me!
