Let's date them:confused:
Top pic around 2004? Hotel lawn after Abingdon. Before I grew arches. I'm on holiday so can't check old newsletters... remember those?
Middle pic. Mid to late 90's?
Bottom pic. 2009/10
Who are the three in the centre on the back row of the first pic? I can name the rest.
Middle pic I think I've got the front row covered but need help with the back row. Best guess would be- Paul Hassel, Roland Casebourne ?, Phil D, Chris Smith, Peter Luxford?, Ken T, ?, ?, ?, ?
Bottom pic, who is the 2nd Alitalia?
Green one in the back of the second pic and right of lower pic is Nico Alonzi's.
Is the Alitalia a Hassel one?
I'm guessing the yellow Stradale is Dave Atkinson from Warrington. Norm will know.
Can't read the reg on the red Grp 4 centre back row, but it might be Steve Ellis' car.
Middle one at the back in the first pic is mine Craig. Guess you never saw it in solid red? Did you ever see it as a Stradale?
Guy
Well heres some from Abingdon 2005, not sure i ever shared them
and some from Abingdon 2006
Here you go Craig! A small photograph montage from two events. Apologies if it's not clear! Bottom left is my car in it's first incarnation with Geoff Turtons lime green Stradale (now owned by Mark Cowling) Gary Pickens round arch group 4 (Now known as Shades and owned by Tim Heath) and Austin Smith's red Stradale (Now owned by GTM Paul). I'm struggling to remember the venue but it would have been 92 or 93, one of first outings as the North West group.
The remainder of the photographs are from Aintree taken in Spring 1995. The last day the car ran with a 2 litre Volumex motor. My favourite is the one bottom right...

And here's the car at it's first outing at Donington Park in 1995 after conversion to Group 4 with Alfa 12v power. At the time it was John Rutter (development chassis) with Steve O'Keefe & myself as the conversion kit guinea pigs. So John's car was the first Hawk with an Alfa V6 fitted, Steve O'Keefe beat me to being the first on the road with a V6 by a few weeks as I was doing the bodywork at the same time!
You'll note that the car is still on the same wheels - Compomotive TS501s. The conversion from Stradale to Group 4 saw the rear wheels moving to the front and the fronts fitted with wider rims going onto the back.
Happy days!!
Guy
I can see the plate now you say it's yours. For some reason I thought it was a round arch car from the angle of the shot.
I first spoke to you at the Sandown park kit car show way back in maybe 1996? so I guess you were red with the square arches then?
I think John Rutters car was there too, I saw it outside at some point.
I was with Ultima at the time and managed to cut my finger pushing the car out of the hall (gull wings and door frames don't mix!), ended up in a late night trip to Milton Keynes A&E and 3 stitches.
The white car with the newly fitted wheel arches and Italian plate is Nico's second car?
The one 'The Stig' drove on TG.
I only ever did one show at Sandown Park Craig so I'll take you're word for it being '96, that was a log haul for the weekend. Traffic would be a right nightmare today! But yes, the car would have been Group 4 by then. But still Stradale dash and probably still had the Stradale seats rather than the OMP's it had later. Wish I had kept them for the new build... Hey ho.

Can I have a rant about that Bagration Stratos, and why it ought not to be in Alitalia colours?
It's just that, that car (or a car with that number plate) has its own period history. It would be good if it wasn't presented as a works car:

You're right Phil. There was a blue Corse I with an Astra engine though. From Scotland? Gary Keenan. It was W reg. but not the same.
'Probably never went to Abingdon in any case?
Yes it was David Carson. Hugh's brother. Steve Struthers has the engine now. It was a 12v Alfa and it was quick. Had a ride round Donnington in it many years ago. The car was reputedly being fitted with first a Lotus V8 and later on a Ferrari engine after the Alfa went to Steve.
Deep in my Archives...

Will this attachment work ??
More pre digital Stratos Club stuff:
Rob....your last pic in post 17...aren't Paul H's keys somewhere on that lawn
From those results then it doesn't look like the Carson car was so quick!
That was the year then that poor David May drove over all the way from Italy and got excluded for some minor yellow flag misdemeanour.
John.....Yes I remember David coming all the way over from Italy to the Abingdon 2003 sprint, an electrical engineer for Ferrari or Maserati ?... however his car was quick as I recall.... I have never heard of him or the car since he joined us for 1 day on the 2005 Tour of Monte Carlo Rally Stages............. yes you are right about the misdemeanour.... The Stewards of the day would not listen to the fact that he had travelled all that way !!... shame
