I really good day, thanks to the Lancia Motor Club for inviting us to the event, great to catch up with everyone.
Re the String Quartet in the Marquee, what will Norm provide for the SEC AGM next year ?........ that will be interesting !
Great day yesterday, good to catch up with everyone and have a natter, not something I often get to do when on Gerrys stand! Sorry I kept wandering off to look at the Betas etc... Still can't get over the condition of Dave Winrows blue coupe. One owner, bought new in 1980 , never restored with 18k on the clock. That's 400 miles each year....
- yes agree some superb cars of the Lancia marque. It was a shame about the rain but it was fun arriving as a convoy of 8 which certainly turned a few heads on arrival at the Hotel - more or less on time at 10:30 ! A great day and we had several hours of fine weather before the rain set in .There were more Strat replicas than I have ever seen in one place and a chance to meet and greet old friends and new contacts . It was also a useful opportunity to check out the boot drainage arrangements in person (thanks Robin and Richard) - which I will certainly set-up in the coming weeks. This is the second event attaended which has ended in a torrential downpour (good wood FOS was the other) - so drainage arrangements essential. On return I noted that my passenger footwell had filled up with soapy water - looks like my windscreen washer pipework has come adrift under the dash (deep joy !) Well done LMC a great event and thanks for allowing us imposters (albeit Lancia fans) into the event.

Well done, chaps, for a sterling turn-out. Was planning on going meself but other stuff kept me away. Shame cos I'd been looking forward to it...hey ho. Glad to see you kept the old nail of a genuine car out of the line-up of proper ones tho :)
- yes but only beacuse the red car arrived later than everyone else. At first I thought it was a tatty 30 year old replica - but it was all original .
Martin Cliffe of 'Omicron' has owned the red, original Stratos 'stradale' which he brought on Sunday since 1985.
Ah! Of course should have realised it was the Omicron car given the occasion.
No, we had a red Stradale show up at Abingdon one year and the story was that it belonged to Jos Verstappen and well used for travelling Europe between Grand Prix.
It was post 1998 Chris and the car I remember looked a lot tidier than that. I've probably got a photo somewhere.
I'm doubting my own memory on the Verstappen connection now as the chronology of Verstappens career wouldn't be quite right as a contemporary car would it?
'Sorry John, you said a Stradale didn't you.
That Geoff Crabtree car had square arches.
This red Stradale has been in the UK for ages. It's just been re-furbed and had another life as a Philip Morris (Marlboro) press car. (SEE HERE) It's been in more than one magazine article:
Certainly looks more like it. I'll see if I can dredge up the photos from Abingdon.
Are we going to this in 2024?

I will be going, taking a Beta that we are 'custodians' of, on behalf of fellow Lancisti, can't work out how to drive the Stratos at the same time!
Always a great event with stunning variety of Lancia's.
