Re: Silverstone classic 20-22 july 2012
IMPORTANT NOTICE PLEASE READ. !!!!!!!
I've just spoken to Ken. He's onsite and has told me that the SEC parking area has been changed due to the weather.
Please note this change of details as you will need to take action before you enter the event.
You should arrive as usual at Car Park 49. This is set aside as the entrance for car clubs. and where we've entered on previous years. When you arrive, DO NOT JOIN THE QUEUE INTO THE CIRCUIT. Instead, park up in the top right hand corner of the car park, take your grey parking pass with you and walk through the gate into the next car park - No.50, where you will see a "Welcome Centre" . Present your grey pass to them and they will replace it with a green one.
Next, rejoin the queue to enter the circuit.
When you get in, turn right and cross over the bridge (at Bridge :) ) Head towards the mini roundabout and cross it, taking the second exit (not the one we usually take). Drive towards the next bridge but turn off to the left onto the hard standing before you reach it. The SEC stand will be thereabouts.
For those who've been before, he tells me that we are situated near where the Harley Davidson marquee has stood in previous years.
See you there!
Elliott

Just a quick note to say thank you to everybody, had a very enjoyable day on Saturday, and it was good to put names and faces together, I'll look forward to seeing the photos!!
Re: Silverstone classic 20-22 july 2012
I'd like to add my thanks to Griff's. As always, the weekend was so very enjoyable. It was great to catch up with you all and the parade was fun. I even managed to snatch third a couple of times. :)
Thanks to everyone involved in the arranging of the weekend. Especially Carol who's tireless work and good humour throughout the weekend was totally outstanding.
Here's to next year!

Re: Silverstone classic 20-22 july 2012
I'd like to echo the words of the last three posts.
Thank you, as ever, to Ken, Julie, Carol, and John, but also Mel, Rob and other stalwarts for helping out.
Re: Silverstone classic 20-22 july 2012
A poster on Pistonheads has sent me these shots from the Classic parade. I have hi-res versions of each of them. If you are interested in hi-res copies please PM me. I have the photographer's permission to send copies on to members of the SEC for their personal use. I'd prefer to send out batches of all five, rather than individual shots as I'm sure to send the wrong ones out otherwise.

It's funny, whilst we were lined up on the grid ready to go out I spoke to a couple of chaps and they were convinced every car there was a genuine example.
