Re: Skipton area garage day Saturday 3rd May 2025
The 160 mile drive for us was worth the effort. Many thanks to Steve and Tree for being fabulous hosts in a fabulous setting. As always it was great to meet up with old friends and meet some new ones. The bacon rolls - OK baps ? were a welcome start to the day followed by pasties and then ice creams all washed down with tea or coffee.
It was the first big outing since Craig had replaced the front suspension on my Allora - which vastly improved it of course.

I improved my Allora back in '92 by replacing the whole thing with an Integrale. Made a massive difference. ;)

Trouble is they put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Same mistake I made with my Hawk back in 1988. I rectified by not buying an integrale but my moving the steering wheel to the correct side....

I think this is the car Steve Greenwood mentioned designing:
Re: Skipton area garage day Saturday 3rd May 2025
Steve designed the chassis & suspension, another guy named Richard Ashby did the body styling.
It was commissioned by Sector Three Engineering but later sold to Quantum Sports Cars in one of their later guises. See HERE for more info.
I remember Steve having a Robin Hood and a Caterham in Skipton whilst he was doing the R & D.
I had a ride out in the Robin Hood, that car redefined the term under steer.

It was a real clever design with the folded stainless elements. Same chassis underpinned the Napier
( Napiersports original product) and that body was penned by Richard Ashby too I think? Seem to remember a tale of woe about lighting positions having to be redesigned for IVA purposes.
