I'm interested if anyone has managed to insure their car during the build. Was told by car insurance it could not be covered as it was not a fully built road car. If I remember house insurance would not cover it also. Anyone had any luck insuring their car during the build for theft? Also value must be a bit tricky, Thanks

Re: Build insurance
Try Hagerty - they did a policy for me whilst building my Safari car

Re: Build insurance
I know it won't help you Graham, but for any builders down under I've insured mine with Swann. Agreed value, I just had to take photos of everything I had and have to notify them when it's ready to go on the road. Just over $300 a year.

Re: Build insurance
try this:- http://www.sorninsurance.co.uk/
and do it on chassis number rather than VRM

Re: Build insurance
Hagerty also did mine while I was building it, it was agreed upon value. Locked in a garage was ok with them, carport was not, but occasional trailering was.

Re: Build insurance
Footman James have given me build insurance on mine, quoted on the chassis number. Part built ListerBell, value £35k, insured fire, theft and accidental damage, has to be in my garage, £200 per year.
Reis insurance also quoted very similar.
