Bit "chavvy"! Why would you need to write Stratos on the side like that?
Am I right in saying I don't think we would see that on a European restoration?
Nevertheless the engine bay looks nice.
I remember a few years ago there was a red one for sale with the same graphic up the side, can't remember where it was though. I'm sure I've got a photo somewhere.
Each to his own ! Why would you want to drive around with Alitalia or Chardonnet livery, or San Remo or RAC Rally stickers ? There are a lot of people - perhaps more in US - who wouldn't know what a Stratos is or what it looks looks like - so it's promoting some brand awareness !
This 1975 Stratos gp 4 (ex Griffiths Grenville prepared by Chequered Flag) is just coming for sale in France after a complete overhaul with a new 24v Dino engine and a new gearbox from Vaison sport...Price asked 780k€ :p

Interestingly - and topically on the forum - I see it has been updated with electric power steering !
How is that possible Frederic? It is not the same for a Ford Mustang!?!
All is possible John! I guess though they rebuilt the car with new parts in following the FIA recommandations for one original Stratos!
In the same purpose Romain Dumas won Historic Tour de Corse 2016 with one " new rebuilt " 911 RS Porsche and Erik Comas with his Zenith Stratos was defeated and a bit disappointed, He said the Porsche is a new car which had same times on stage as a modern rally car!
Morality if you would like to win in historic races you have to rebuild entirely the car with new parts, new engine new gearbox etc etc...
This Stratos with a new Lortec 24v engine is powered with more 300 BHP for 880kg...I think it's quarely a stratos..pheric rocket!
Comas' car won the 2017 Championship with original parts.....
