The Fulvia 3 gearstick knob is not quite as wide in circumference as a Beta S1 wood knob.
See photo of each next to their chrome sticks. The fastening thread is the same for both.
Some 124 Spiders may have a wood knob of similar dimensions, but the colour is usually more 'blonde' than the proper S1 Beta.

fairly close, and nowhere near as expensive
Here's another option, I noticed a while back:

Give me some sizes/materials/thread, I can look into getting some made. Very easy to replicate.
Thanks Chris. Any idea what wood the original was made from, and what the threaded insert was turned from? Does anyone have an original that we could borrow to get them bang on??
The wood has very little grain figure.
I'd say it was a mahogany.
Maybe Sapele.
Lime would be an alternative and probably cheaper.
I have plenty of African Mahogany, maybe try that first and see what happens...
As John says, quite a dense grain.
The captive thread is steel, I'll check the thread on the stick I have. The original stick is quite substantial, hence the 20mm ID on the knob.
The colour of the wood changes a lot where the clear coating wears through (see photos of Beta S1 knob).
I have just removed the gearknob from the car, it is the Beta S1 type. I believe the thread to be M10 x 1 (fine thread)
It has metal thread insert for wood as shown below.

I forgot to add the thread insert is recessed well into the gearknob by a good 1.5” to 2”

Slight discrepancy with the measurements. 74mm + 9mm = 83mm not 85mm. Which overall measurement do I go for?
Maybe the measurements are to the start of the outer diameter radius?....that would make sense.
Thanks chaps.
The 74mm is the length of the flat part on the side, but it's on a slant, don't pay much attention to that.
The vertical measurement from the bottom to the edge of the radius at the top is actually 85mm - 9mm = 76mm.
The overall height is 85mm.
I could make a proper engineering drawing on the computer?
The drawing on the left of the above is the actual shape and proportion.
