This is my best guess Tim. Taken by me at Brooklands in 1999. I don't know the owner.
'Just a guess though. It might not be this car.

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
I did some sub contract work on a white Hawk fitted with a Volumex maybe 10 years ago while it was in at a friends workshop.
Trying to remember what it was in for. It came from "South of Reading" so Camberley could fit the description.

[langtitle=nl]Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale[/langtitle]
[lang=nl]I think the owners name is Gorden. A man by this name responded to my "Stratos wanted" add. He couldn't send pictures. He promised to get back with some more info but I guess it has been sold in the meantime.
Still looking b.t.w.[/lang]

'Just to update this. I guessed wrong, it was actually Brent's old car.
As it turns out, a much more recently built Hawk than the one in my photo.
Thanks to Struan for the info.
I don't know where the white round arch Hawk with the green rear louvres and roof wing is now.
I've not seen it since that show in 1999.

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Now for sale at £49,995 at Totalheadturners - spotted at Goodwood this weekend HERE. Original asking price was £28k. Wish my cars had the same markup!

£50K?
This is a Transformer kit with Rob's old Volumex, Guy's old split rims, and what looks like a partial vinyl wrap. Isn't it?

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Yep, that's right. I bought my new Hawk seats a month or so back, from Gordon, the previous owner - a very nice man, indeed. Didn't see the car.
I'm sure he won't mind me sharing with you that Mark from Total Headturners didn't actually let on at any point that he was a dealer - it was only through the fact that Gordon did some background research and Googled Mark's telephone number that he found out!
Will be interesting to see how long it's for sale at that price... but then again, it would have only taken one wealthy Goodwood attendee to see it and want it!

There's only ever one for sale at any time, so I suppose it is 'who dares wins'.
'Must be great buying and selling classic cars when you've got a bit float of cash?

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
The Martini colour scheme on the Hawk seems to be a replica of the ex Gary Lomas Litton Corse.
The one that competed on the Spa rally. There have been numerous scale models of this car with 4 stud wheels.
Here's a photo of the Litton on the rally:

One of the models:

There's a slot car too.

And/or an LB up North with 5 stud wheels which was inspired by the Gary Lomas car

'Should have 4 stud wheels to be authentic ;)
2 replicas of a replica, rather than the usual replica of an original.
There's plenty of scope for nicely executed colour schemes that look like they could have existed, but didn't.
The trouble with most of the European Championship Stratos of the period is that their colour schemes are nearly all half baked.
Ken Tomblin's Rothmans Pregliasco car, for example, is in the minority.

You right Craig...I recognize it as Lionel promoted me it as a car from Napiersport racing in Belgium when I was first Time in touch with them for refurbishing my car!!

Absolutely Tim..a bit confusion in that announcement!!

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Looks to me like it's the person that's just bought the Total Headturners car. The interior pic is one of the pictures taken by Total Headturners.
-
Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
All very questionable. If it is the Total head turners car then why use a picture of a Corse, a Hawk and an LB in the listing? There were plenty of pictures from THT available.
-
Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
The Gary Lomas Corse, before it was 'Martini'd':

This is the same car in the first picture of the 'Leboncoin' advert link that Frederic has posted.

Agreed - anyone interested in the car needs to tread very carefully! However, it's unusual for a 'bogus' ad to have a comparatively high price.
-
Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Right Richie!
it's strange for a bogus listed with a true cellphone Number and announced with french registration...To investigate more!!

Dino engine and gear box seems to be from an italian guy called Aldo!!
That could be interesting to call for further informations!

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Martini car was still in THT showroom last Sunday, I spoke to Mark and it wasn't sold, so I would say that the 'other' Martini car was very, very suspect
You know what they say........... if it looks like, smells like, and tastes like dog poo, it probably is

Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
THT are no longer advertising the ex Brent, ex Gordon Martini Hawk anywhere, so it looks like it's sold?
-
Re: Hawk Stratos for Sale
Well if they got the 50 grand asking price they did well. I had a look at it at the Goodwood FOS and to be honest wasn't that impressed - it was showing its age and the spec was rather underwhelming.
