Steve
I haven't received any emails from them. If you have a contact from your emails you could PM me I will have a look into it.
Cheers
Neil

It is these sort of emails, I guess to people who have bought tickets before.
I now get them regularly.

As Ken isn't arranging the stand this year does anyone else want to step up?
I have no plans to attend this year, turnout has been poor the last couple of years. That might change once the music lineup is announced but highly unlikely.
Guy
Hi all
The turn out might be bad as its now on a bank holiday, the last before school starts.
I can’t make it as I’ve got the scouts cycling in the Newforest.
Ian
Off the cuff I just asked Silverstone that as the club had not yet registered what I could do if I wanted to turn up in a classic car but "without a home to go to"
So I contacted them as their website suggested

To be told - "join a car club" that is registered to attend such as The Sporting Bears
They also told me to contact Ken to "encourage the club to register"
Steve
Well that's a helpful response.....not....
If I'd been thinking of going, that'd have been enough for me to look for something else to do on a Bank Holiday! - still, that's me, I'm just a curmudgeonly old git. Given Ken's recent health problems, I suggest that if anyone feels strongly enough about going, they do the biz and take over the club pitch organization, for this year at least, as per Guy's suggestion above. Or, we could just give it a miss this time and have a lie-in instead :)
The only problem i see of not going is that the club my loose its pitch inside the circuit.
Ian
I am keen to go but probably only do 2 of the 3 days.
Can we put something together with shared coverage like Norm organized (press ganged us into at Gordons's garage day).
Presumably all we need is the flag stuck in the ground and some cars parked up. I will go and play golf with Ian and Paul
How many cars must agree to go each day
Who wants to go
On what days
I'm not sure if the Lancia Moter Club are going this year? It might be worth asking if they minded if we shared a space with them? Or another friendly club?
I've never actually been to the Silverstone Classic and have had nothing at all to do with the club pitch, but does anyone know if the club has to front up any dosh? If not, someone can book a place for, say, 5 or 6 cars and then all you have to do is keep this thread updated with news/costs/attendees. Oh, and then turn up for the gig, natch :)
I’ve organised this event since 1999. In the early days we had up to 25 cars on the stand. We also had financial support from the club. On issuing a club display, Silverstone want to see 10 plus cars each day. More latterly I’ve struggled to get even 5.
Unfortunately, for health reasons I may not be able to be at the event, but am happy to organise the stand if enough members will commit to attending.
Currently only one club member has shown an interest, if you would like to attend please let me know asap in order that I can make contact with Silverstone.
Hi Ken, yeah, it's hard these days to get peeps fired up enough to actually take their cars out to a do! Suppose it's the change in demographic - back in the Old Days when people hadn't spent as much on the cars and they were almost considered disposable (the cars, not the people!), and the owners were old-school enthusiasts, they'd jump at these events. But now, with rising values and replicas worth a hell of a lot more, owners don't seem to be as bothered about socialising. In fact when a car gets sold on these days, the new owner doesn't bother with the club at all. Oh well, such is life in the New Stratos Apathy Club. :)
Appreciate your offer to organise the stand once more but I know you've been ill, so let someone else take the strain this time and just be available to give advice if needed. If anyone DOES give this a go (assuming the requisite 10 cars are on the cards) and a club donation is needed, I can't see that being a problem....just let me know and I'll authorise our esteemed Treasurer to make large with the shekels ;)
Norm
I would like to attend - 2 of the 3 days- so I can be on "the roster" like the NEC show
Any takers please and we can at least see if anyone wants to go in their car
We have a club stand at this event, to order 2 tickets for the price of 1 ticket plus car display pass use our code 23 CCD 221 . Please let me know if you intend to attend so that i can update the list.
Who's going -:
3 Days Paul Hassall * Chris Jarvis (ProtoTipo)
Saturday & Sunday Steve (hollytree)
Saturday Tom Ransome
Ken
I plan to be there and probably with son in law (future), but dont know days yet as he may have to work.
Steve
'Just attaching these for Ken T. :
If any needs to split a 2-4-1 ticket for the Silverstone Classic, I would buy the spare ticket for 3 days.
Thanks.
Ignore the above, I'm sorted now.
Hi
I will be there with son in law and car for Sat and Sun.
Steve
Im booked. Will be there with my car on the Saturday.
Tom
Could someone please give me the actual price for a 3 day 2-4-1 ticket, so I can compare it to a normal punter early bird price?
Thanks.
Booked for all 3 days though unsure which days will be there subject to future son in law work requirements
Having never been to the classic, I have a few questions, out of the three days which would be the best to attend,
am I right in thinking there’s a parade lap on the Sunday and do any of the club car take part in this !!
do we have to buy a 3 day ticket for this ?
dave
Thanks Chris, hopefully have a chat at Phil's in a couple of weeks.
We (or I) need to stop calling it the Silverstone Classic.
It's the Silverstone Festival now.
I can't see any 'early bird' cut off dates mentioned on Silverstone's website, but at least two cars clubs (Club Lotus and Morgan) have quoted 3rd April as one price increase date.
Ticket prices increase on the. 03/04/23. And the 2 4 1 offer closes on the 31/05/23
Updated club members display list is on page 2
have booked in for two display passes Saturday only, taking my car (Dave B) and (Tim M) will be taking his too, Might have one spare ticket going for the Saturday as well
If you're using the club code, there are no letter spaces at all (no gaps).
So now you can't get into this event without a smart phone.
Yes no more E tickets, they are a thing of the past
the f1 race was the same I had a free ticket for Friday practice
But parking was still ?30 there is no way of paying for parking there, it’s all done online ,QR codes via parking app
this is the future Chris !!
It seems so Dave.
The thing is, they've brought this regime in since I bought the tickets, and I've only got a dumbphone.
You had me worried there for a minute, and I had to check, but thankfully car parking is still free for this event.
They only charge for parking at the GP and MotoGP.
Display passes turned up the other day for mine and Tim marklews cars, we are both going on the Saturday 26th i have one spare ticket up for sale ?50 for general admission if anyone fancies it ( PM me) can be transferred to another phone if you have the silverstone ticket app.
Not exactly sure where im heading to once on the infield orange zone 20.
Will anyone be taking the club flag to promote the club etc
can you also arrange a dry weekend please
Dave
After this year's ticket troubles, I'm not sure I'm ever going to this event again.
I've been attending it every year since the 1990s.
Chaps, can I have a volunteer for the Saturday to perform a hard but rewarding task on behalf of the club please.... ;)
I've been contacted by a guy called Nick Wilkinson from Adrian Flux, who's organising something to celebrate their 50th. This includes a place at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, on the Hamilton Straight apparently, and food and drink will be provided. Unfortunately it's just one person per club so is there anyone who's got no mates who'd like to give it a go? Need to know ASAP so I can tell him!
That’s a nice idea norms buts there’s four of us going on Saturday in our gang things might get moody if I nip off for a free corporate lunch , l will pass
Whereabouts is the SEC gathering? I can't find any maps ahowing where each car club is. A mate is racing this weekend so I'm based at the Wing.
