North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds Tour 14/15 June 2024
I am delighted to say that this year’s Yorkshire Drive will once again be at Dunsley Hall near Whitby with its old charm and elegance. The Hotel is currently closed for refurbishment.
I have secured the total price of ?299 per room for dinner bed and breakfast for Friday and Saturday nights. This includes private dining. The reception is only partially manned at the moment so room bookings will need to be done as follows.
Please email the Hotel at - reception@dunsleyhall.com
Joanne is the contact. Quoting - Stratos Car Club, give the guests’ names and telephone number. Joanne will ring you back for further details and a deposit of ?130/room, please book this before the 15 December.

Bit skin-of-teeth last minute, but we're booked in now as well. Feck knows what we'll be driving though....could be biking it yet (motorbike, that is). Although actually, my arse is getting sore just thinking about that, so No, it'll be some 4-wheeled conveyance or other ;)

Well David. Wasn't sure if we could make it this year, but we are now definitely free for your weekend! Spoke to Joanne from hotel just now and June and I are booked up. Looking forward to it already. Thanks for organising.
Cheers!

Bit late to the party on this event - what is the general format/itinerary? I may just have my car ready for this...

Re: North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds Tour 14/15 June 2024
Matt
Everybody arrives at the hotel during Friday afternoon from about 3pm onwards for socialising on the run up to dinner in the evening.
The Drive takes place on Saturday from 9.30 onwards there is a stop for coffee and a spot of lunch during the course of the Drive which covers about 150 miles. After the Drive on Saturday more socialising before dinner. Sunday after breakfast people head for home.
Finally you don’t have to come in a Stratos.

Re: North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds Tour 14/15 June 2024
Cheers David - probably a bit irrelevant to me this year as Leah can't make it seeing as we can't get a dog-sitter, so I'll be on me tod and therefore struggling to follow the directions....and it was bad enough not having a Strat to come in. Oh well, stiff upper lip and all that, by Jove, etc.

Thanks David - fingers crossed for some good weather and no potholes - fat chance I imagine.

Just got back from a wonderful weekend in North Yorkshire and the very lovely Dunsley Hall Hotel, a couple of miles out from Whitby.
A great turnout with 5 Strats in attendance. We saw some heavy showers, so the Club shower covers came into their own. The sun did make an occasional appearance as did a few hail stones on our drive out to Pickering. It did nothing to dampen the spirits though and that included those consumed in the bar and lounge during the frequent socialising.....
Thanks to David and Pat for, again, organising a special Club weekend!
Cheers!

We are back home too, great weekend, even the weather didn't dampen our spirits. Great route again and also a great turnout of cars....
Many thanks to David and Pat for organising another really good tour.
Thanks to all that attended for their company throughout the weekend
Cheers Phil and Helen

David & Pat,
Many, many thanks for organising such a great weekend for us, great route for the run in wonderful north Yorks, even though the weather was somewhat inclement, the views were spectacular, and the company great.

Re: North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds Tour 14/15 June 2024
We arrived back home after a long drive with miles of roadworks and heavy traffic but had such a fabulous long weekend it didn’t matter. Thanks to David and Pat for once again organising a great venue and planning an interesting route for the run. It was great meeting up with old friends and to meet some new faces. The weather could have been kinder but it didn't spoil anything although Julie was slightly unhappy with the small waterfall entering through the car window during the heavy rain. I am already looking forward to the next time.

Re: North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds Tour 14/15 June 2024
Well what can I add to those comments.....perhaps "it was bloody awful", "miserable bunch of gits" and "not bleeding Yorkshire again" spring to mind. Except they wouldn't be true and it was great, even though I was on my own and didn't have a Stratos. I actually think I made a good decision to go in the Defender, so no worries regarding the weather, crumbly roads and even the small river running down one stretch!
Good to see/meet everyone, the bad-tempered waitress from last time was nowhere to be seen and overall, a 5-star do - many thanks to Pat and David for pulling it together. I can't understand why more peeps don't give it a go!
Looking forward to the Northern Run round Northumberland and the Borders in September, details of which can be found in the "Events" section. No idea of the route yet but it's hard to go wrong round that area!
