How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
My little collection stands at 5 at the moment but will be culled by one before Christmas.... In order of quantity according to How Many Left (where possible)...
Fiat Panda 100 HP - there are currently 1267 left with an MOT. That's not as many as I thought so pretty rare?
Hawk HF 3000 - well, its not listed on How Many Left, but lets say there might be 150 in the UK? Lots in hiding I suspect? Maybe fewer?
Lancia Beta Coupe - Not clear on How Many Left and mine isn't one of them, not even SORN'd yet but it'll get back on the list sometime. Probably less than 50 in the UK now?
Alfa 159 Sportwagon Ti Q4 2.4 - generally accepted that there are 4 in the UK.
Then there's the Skoda. It's registered as a Sportline Plus 2.0 TSI 4x4 of which there are 654 according to How Many Left but that covers saloon and estate. Trouble is it's a "Scout" version. Which was never imported to the UK officially and is an Australian market car. So it's probably 1 of 1!
And it't the Alfa that is heading for pastures new soon. It's been a fantastic car for the last 10 years but it was just time for a change and something that's a little more comfortable for the monthly commute to Gerrys!

And here they are... Beta is in paint now so it's only the suspension and engine and tyres here at the moment!

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
OK, mainly Sorn but some nice low numbers-
Alfa GT V6- 190 on the road, 127 Sorn. This was on the road until earlier this year when the ECU did Alfa GT ECU things.
Fiat Coupe 20v- 95 on the road, 285 Sorn. This is long term Sorn but the chassis is solid, the paintwork not so much so. 82k miles on the clock
Alfa Romeo 156 V6 Sportwagon, 4 on the road, 7 on Sorn. This is long term Sorn and definitely needs some new floor sections & a new key code. 62k miles at the last MOT.
Nissan X-trail T-spec- 274 on the road, 160 Sorn. Passed its MOT last week with just shy of 248k on the clock and only a couple of advisories.
Mercedes ML- 2573 on the road, 1082 Sorn. An excellent tow vehicle and family car but not really that rare although rapidly diminishing due to fuel costs & excessive road tax!
I'll stick at 5 declared!

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Didn't think I'd have much to offer here, but it seems my McLaren 600LT Spider is one of 330 made with less then 150 RHD examples. A rare(ish), modern Unicorn. Not particularly great mpg, not particularly great for towing, less than ideal as a family car or for taking the dogs to the beach and I'm told the luggage area could be bigger (some women are hard to please!!) but hey... it spits flames out of the bazooka exhaust things!!

Attachment 23210Circa 2500 made in total... ish (8v Kat) most in the bin now, mine is Bordeaux 167, don't think too many left in this color. Sadly the 8v Kats tend to run a bit lean due to silly ecu etc, I think this contributed to their low survival rate, shame as more fun than an evo & with sensible intervals for 8v belt changes & all the plus points of the 16v diff bias etc... bit boring compared to the Hawk though:)

Attachment 23211Nearly forgot, Jacobs other Beta in the middle, we only have four... the fiat is a 16v n/a, I only seem to like the cars no one else wants!!!
-
Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
From what I can see/guess (how many left)
Beta 1600: 31 on the road, also 31 sorn. Think this is all 1.6 Beta's though?
Beta Spider 2.0: 54 on the road, 85 sorn.
integrale 8v Kat, my guess about six... max.
Coupe Fiat 16v n/a: 33 on the road, 113 sorn.
Hawk Stradale: CJ will know! my guess... six?
The Beta numbers are tragic when you consider 100thou Coupes made... ish & 9000 Spiders made, strange how things go.

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Don't have anything rare really now except maybe the LB.
My Mondeo certainly isn't rare and neither is the V8 Vantage.
Used to have a rare Lotus. One of only 340 ever made (the green one). Only about 80 left in the UK now I think. The silver one was a SC Honda converted S2 Elise. Almost 400hp and 800kg, it was pretty rapid!
Both gone now.....

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
I guess I ought to chip in as most of my cars are a bit weird... :p
Aside from the LB...
Lancia Thesis 3.0V6 - originally a diplomatic car - I think there are only 2 or 3 others in the UK. Very rare as they only made around 15,000 of all variants. Used as my daily driver, thankfully it's LPG converted...! Packed with all of the options, including solar panel in the sunroof which keeps the interior fans running while the engine's off. Car phone, TV, leather and wood everywhere, Xenon and LED lights... first production car with an electric handbrake (sadly!). It's actually very well screwed together. Parts availability is a bit of an issue, though....
Lancia Y 840 - again, only a handful in the UK. Basically a 1.2 8v Fiat Punto underneath with some posh additions such as full leather, air con, alcantara. I've been using it for Road Rallies and 12 cars for nearly 5 years now, it's actually a very robust little thing and parts are super cheap!
Fiat Coupe 20v n/a - Sara's everyday car. Has been mostly very well behaved, and fewer niggly issues than her previous TwinSpark GTV. Sounds great too!
Suppose my '67 MGB isn't all that rare...

Here are mine.
The space on the left of the first picture, was for the Stratos to be spliced in at a later stage. I traded the S4 for the Stratos - but actually owned them both for a time.
S4 and 037 stradale both chassis #33, Fulvia HF S1 Rallye.

Had mine since new in 2000, alas, the Barchetta went to a place in the sun, but the Stratos looks the best by far.

My shiny red LB and my 67 Fulvia Rallye that I’ve had for a couple of years now. Imported from Italy to NZ with four others by a car dealer up north. Have just sold my Alfa 147 GTA as I needed a bit of cash, I also have my fathers 75 BMW R90s bike inthe garage now that my parents are ina retirement village. That’s the next project.

Hi Paul, S1 Fulvia Coupes are the best looking, and from the works period. I love that most appropriate blue too.
-
Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Thanks Chris, yes I love the colour. I started restoring one about 20 years ago that I had to sell before I'd finished, it was going to be the same blue. Really pleased to have an S1, pre FIAT and ex Italy. It's lovely.

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Venturi Atlantique - single turbo v6 - 1 of 2 in the UK I think
Marcos Mantara 2.0 Turbo - they made 8 I believe, and made 157 Mantaras in total - most with Rover V8's
Esprit HC NA - one of the final batch of 57 in that spec before the model change to the Stephens shape
Defender 50th Anniversary - V8 auto (now 4.6l following rebuild).
and the STR in Stradale form, of course
-
Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Correction -
Mantara - 137 built overall. 15 were 2.0Turbo GTS variant.

I love that. Better than a Lotus 7 in my opinion. Wish I had the patience to build one.
Spotted (stalked) a real Stratos today. Phil Kadoorie down here for the Silver Fern Rally. Had a chat to him and got a tour of the car. It even uses original Lister Bell parts.

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
I saw that real Stratos landed in Christchurch on Facebook, Paul, wonderd what the story was! We left Christchurch this morning for Dunedin, back to Christchurch on 2nd Dec across Arthur's Pass.

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
That’s a nice drive, and hopefully dry this time of year, can get VERY wet on the west coast. Get in contact when you’re back here if you get time.
-
Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Thanks Paul, yeah, you’ve got some stunning scenery and roads over here! Looks like I just miss the finish of the rally in Wanaka, which is a shame.
I'll DM you closer to the time, would be good to meet up if you are free.
Cheers Chris

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Interesting supplementary radiator arrangement?
-

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
When I went and saw Steve Ellis' car, he had cut the internal part of the boot away, put louvres in the boot lid and fitted some sort of additional radiator in the boot.
This gave more cooling to the whole engine bay and cooling to this additional radiator.
Edit I thought that was the additional radiator in the boot, but now looking closely may be wrong. Certainly hoses in the photo for something

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
Yes. The hoses for engine connections just stored in the boor area while the engine was out!

Re: How Rare Ore The Cars In Your Fleet?
I thought you were reading a lot into a few bits of hose Steve! Reminded me of that Monty Python cartoon of a mammoth reconstructed from one toe!
Still, would be interesting to get some info on the radiator in that Stratos. Looks like an intercooler rad repurposed?
