Front Number Plate Fitting
How have people attached their front number plate , I know there has been posts about size and location but How do you actually fit it. My grill has a rim running around it and is held in place by 3 screws top and bottom, one either side and one in the middle both top and bottom. If you could post a picture of what type of bracket you used or how it is fitted that would be great. Sorry for the replicationof the picturesAttachment 23461Attachment 23462Attachment 23463Attachment 23464Attachment 23461Attachment 23462Attachment 23463Attachment 23464

You might have seen this already Kenny.
Some good stuff in the thread, especially the legal stuff from Griff. No specific bracket designs but depends where you want to fit it of course. I would fit it on the lamp pad cover but it won't do much for your graphic unfortunately.
Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
Thanks John I had seen this thread and it does show the number plate in different positions on different cars but does not show you what type of bracket or fixing is used to secure the plate. The legal requirements I understand about size and spacing. Don't feel I want to put it on the pod cover because of the graphics.

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
I have fixed 2 captive nuts in the rear of the quad pod cover and I used to have a full size plate on there, but it really screws the graphics.
I made up 2 brackets (same width as full size plate) in the radiator inlet and used to have a full size plate there - never had any overheating though!
I got a smaller plate made up and fitted an alloy bar between the brackets and fitted my smaller plate to that - vanity
I normally take the small plate off and put the full size plate on at MOT time, but forgot yesterday. Got a PASS no problem.
It was only reading your post reminded me about legality

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
I've put two M6 anchor nuts on the underside horizontal surface, just in front of the grille Kenny.
That's as far as I've got.
Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
Just a bit of bent ally nailed through the grille with my undersized plate that looks okayish as it's only 5 letters/digits wide.

Two white tie-wraps through teh plate and mesh - has worked fine for years.

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
Need to check some pictures but I have a funny feeling the Beta/Fulvia number plate lights are back to front?

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
Never looked specifically at what LB have in terms of fittings but if it's a 5 digit plate you can order them online with all the minimum correct legal spacing and supplier info to make for a simple MOT pass and the benefit of not blocking much of the radiator.

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
I suppose to a certain degree it depends how many digits your registration has Kenny? I deliberately went for one with as few digits as I could afford and managed 6 digits for Roberto. Mines a legal plate (albeit smaller than standard) with correctly sized digits and spacing.
It's fitted in place with an LB supplied bracket and no overheating problems experienced. I do have the additional EWP fitted linked to operation of 2nd stage fan (comes on at about c97 degrees C from memory).

Re: Front Number Plate Fitting
Thankyou for the replies, that gives me a few different options to look at and decide what method to use . I may get a new shorter number if possible the number issued was URZ9677 .
