Just putting it here for widest circulation, but if anyone has a scrap front head I would be interested in acquiring it. No particular hurry.

I have a pair of 3 litre heads with cams but with some damaged valves. One has the cams and lifters out the other is assembled.
Thanks Leigh. Any chance of a photo of the front head?
Hi John
Should be able to get one later or by the weekend at the latest. The 'front' is the one with the oil filler cap yeah?
Leigh
That's the one Leigh. Thanks. No hurry.
Hi John, dug it out what do you need pics of?
Top surface please Leigh. Without the cam covers on, but I'm assuming that is how you have it! Thanks.
Yep it's in bits. There are no cams in it. I'll take a pic tomorrow.
Just saw this thread. I’ve got a couple of sets of 2.5 heads in the garage, but it’s a bit far to drive to drop them off. Here?s a picture instead.

Thanks Paul. For sure a little too far for delivery or collection!
I don't know enough about these castings to discern if there is any difference between 2.5 and 3.0 so would still be good to see the 3.0 heads Leigh if you can manage that.
Here you go. You can see my new ITB inlet manifold project which I never got to fruition, might need to pic it back upAttachment 23593
Thanks Leigh.
I'm just juggling screenshot now to compare the two.
Look identical to me?
Can anyone confirm the 3.0 and 2.5 heads are the same?
Anyhow, looks like you might need to hang on to this Leigh? Or would you be willing to part with it?
I've got the two side by side in my garage too. I've had a look in the past and the only difference I can see is the port and valve size for the larger engine. When I get home this afternoon I can have a better look at both. All the cam covers from various 24v engines are interchangeable, the later ones have a breather outlet on both cam covers rather than just one.
Here you go, a couple more pictures for comparison. The 2.5 head is the one on the left of the first picture or on the top of the following pictures, the other is a 3 (actually 3.2, but they’re the same). You can see the manufacture dates in the first picture. Valve sizes for the 2.5 are 29mm in, 25mm exh, 3 litre is 31mm in and 26mm exh. Ports are visibly bigger too.
