Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!
[QUOTE=Guy Mayers;53195At the la Mandria test track Giorgio Pianta sent an interpreter over to ask if he could come over and look over the Stratos replica in detail and then spent so long doing so Andrea & I missed out on the lunch that day.[/QUOTE]
You'd have regretted not talking to Pianta, more than the regret of missing the lunch Guy?

Correct - these opportunities come about so rarely! The interpreter was kept busy....

Digressing If I remember that was the one lunch that was worth a pass. I think I came last in the time trial as I didn't read the script and went as fast a possible.... To win a (slow - 30kph???) regularity on a race track in a Stratos (replica) takes some self control!!

Thanks for that Tim - we'd always wondered as the food & wine was excellent throughout.
What made the regularity harder was having to convert speed from KmPH to MPH and distances too. Plus the stopwatch they gave us didn't work. Luckily we had two on the dash and Andrea is a fast learner! What worked for us was a countdown by Andrea as we approached the lines at the end of each timed sections and the ability to accelerate when necessary!

Okay, would VW go for anyone who took mould off this and went into commercial production?
