Prescott revival 11-12 august
We have again been invited to the Prescott Revival with runs up the hill (cost to be confirmed) the run's are not offically timed so no need for helmets etc unless you want to use them. Its a good way to take people out in the cars and have a bit of fun at the same time.
On the Saturday night they have a meal and music on site, and you can camp and stay over if you so wish. The site does have a toilet block and shower on site.
The hill is run by the Bugatti drivers club and is well looked after, I'm told that due to the sucess of last years event may more clubs have asked if they can take part, so its good that we have been accepted so early (we could not have been that bad last year then.....Even if we did close the course...opps!) Steve you can still come and have another go.......
With all the new car's being readed for the road it would be a good meeting point, and you could try out your car or be a static display as you wished.

I'll be up for some of that. and it would be a good chance for other club members to have a ride in other peoples Stratos, to compare or just for the thrill.
So come on lads get your calendar's out, remember there's no Rally Show this year.

Re: Prescott revival 11-12 august
It would be a really nice place to make a weekend of it, and the best bit is the nights entertainment on site provided my Marcos (at a reasonable cost) And some intresting stuff went up the hill last year as well.

Unfortunately, John will not be taking BORIS, Auto Electricians are on holiday for 2 weeks, they start on him on the 13th August, there is always next year.
Who is attending with their car? It would be nice to have a few Strats there,
regards carol

Last year we had a couple of lucky drivers and several passengers, John took Boris for a pre IVA sprint, and Dag had his car going up the hill. Exciting that one Dag..........!!
The poor camera work was mine as I was taken up to see what the cars should go like when finished....
Its not timed offically so you dont need Crash helmets etc, but some of the boys dont hang about.....and a good selection of car's tried it from the everyday (not many of thoses mine ) to the supercars that Bugatti make, and all in touching distance in the pits.
A little Gem that has yet to get too big or safety mad in the pits.
Give it a go.

Re: Prescott revival 11-12 august
Thanks to those who attended the event, John, Carol, Shakey5, was a glorious sunny day on the Saturday, suncream needed. Sunday started off dry then a shower or two, and slowed down the runs up the hill, after an early lunch the track dried up and a sunny end for us all with some intresting items being run, from vintage Bugatti to the latest Mclaren road car giving it plenty of stick...... boy its fast off the line and looks so easy to drive......
Will add some pics here when I get a chance

Ian, my understanding was that Carol had arranged the "showers" in order to shift some of the SEC parasol/umbrellas!! Having bought mine it stopped raining and hasn't since. Many thanks to Carol for providing food and drink as well - the tea was free but you had to supply your own (SEC) mug, of which she had a few for sale! Not sure if Carol has ever been in Sales but she could certainly hold her own.
As Ian said, after lunch the hill was drying nicely and I was lucky enough to get a ride with Mel (thanks Mel - still smiling). Runs up the hill were heavily discounted towards the end of the day so I would definitely recommend a Prescott day for cheap track time.
This was my first "SEC meeting" and I can only say what a lovely friendly bunch of people you are - despite not having a Strat I was made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my day. I'm looking forward to Castle Coombe even more so now.
I've posted the best of the photo's I took in an album somewhere on the forum - not the best quality I'm afraid.
Thanks again to Mel, Carol, Jane, Ian and John for a great day out.

Re: Prescott revival 11-12 august
Glad you enjoyed it Mick, just a pity a few more Strats didnt turn up to play.
Looking back I wish I had done a few more runs in the wet, the car felt good going sideways everywhere, although it didnt stop me trying in the dry.
Pity I had the fuel leak as I think I would have had a few more runs if I hadnt lost my fuel !!!

Re: Prescott revival 11-12 august
The green Strat is a Hawk and your correct V8 bike engine, I know its about 380BHP, with an inline gearbox. I know the chap who helped build it.
cheers
