    Re: Steering Wheel Shimmy

    Norm,
Craig explained the importance of the wheel centre bore matching the spigot to me a couple of years ago.
You can ask him for clarification, but he won't have time to answer you!

    Re: Steering Wheel Shimmy

The centre bore on all production car road wheels is centred to the the spigot on the hub/flange.
The weight of the car shouldn't be taken by the wheel bolts/studs alone.

    It's an important...

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

I owned a 308 and did all the servicing myself.
I stripped down all four webers and rebuilt them. I also fitted new cam belts and tensioner bearings.
You can't run one on a budget, but it needn't...

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

As much as I like Stratos replicas, once they've got to the stage of being valued 10k above Ferrari 308s, I'm always going to choose a 308.
    There is a limit.

Re: Set of X1/9 targa catches

I should have explained that better.

    Leigh,
Yes the fronts and narrow arch rears should have some commonality.

    Guy,
I did mean a flat alloy part, but a chamfer on the rubber part for the...

Re: Set of X1/9 targa catches

They do, but a lot of cars will use one type of block on two or four corners.
It's worth standardising on one size, at least. With the chamfer at one end.

Re: Set of X1/9 targa catches

It wouldn't take a lot to make a mould for those
Kits end up with variable thickness blocks, from car to car, but the original cars would have one set size/thickness.

    With the remanufactured...

Re: Set of X1/9 targa catches

Is the quote for Stratos spec. over centre catches Norm? As in, cut down and re-drilled.
Not copies of the standard unmodified X1/9 roof catch.

Some photos from this morning's coffee stop at Yorkshire Lavender, overlooking the Vale of York, and very close to home, for me.
We had a whole Tepee reserved.

You'll be driving past it soon Norm.
It's an ex HSCC 70s road sport race/road car, but a proper S2 HF with 5 speed box, wider rear arches etc.

    Thanks Craig,
So a Corse S uses Fiat front uprights, but doesn't use the same type of offset wheel as (most) Hawks?
