It was Chris. Nice patina that car had!
Do you remember the notice on the dash?

Club display and Kart Grand Prix.

If there is enough interest I would like to organize a club event at Hooton Park Kart circuit at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. ( Next door to the Vauxhall car plant).
    Possible date, to hopefully...

Re: Litton Corse weights for IVA test

That will be ideal for Suzanne I think Paul.
Certainly more than ball park figures.
The greater chance is you have an S chassis Suzanne the same as Paul's with strut rear suspension.
    Is there...

Re: Litton Corse weights for IVA test

For anyone to help with that ( which I cant I'm afraid), you would need to add what specification the Corse is.
S or I chassis? What engine?

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

" This is a well built car, clearly constructed by someone who knows what they are doing."
There, that should cover it. Don't see the need to cast aspersions at anybody elses efforts.

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

Yes Norm, given that he thinks that the 'norm' ( no pun intended) is amateurish, then he clearly has not done the research he claims he has. Its actually insulting.

    Re: Pirelli Hawk for Sale

    I see it's now described as a 99.9% replica.
So a steel monocoque and Dino engine and transmission clearly only adds 0.1% value......

    Re: Zero build

Yes, not sure I could cope with too much of that...
I think that's actually the very first LB in that picture. Possibly the chassis that I have wearing the bodywork that went to Paul in the States?
  11. Re: Will demand for UK cars in the EU drop off a cliff?

I cant see how vat would be payable on a second hand car purchase? Exports from the uk to any other country have always been zero rated in the uk. Sure somebody importing may have to pay vat in their...

Re: Scheldt and Pettet Stratos where is it now?

That wasn't the shell which featured in that great series of photos in a shop in Japan was it Chris? Under restoration?
Very detailed photos of the original chassis I remember.

    Re: Hello from Cheshire

Both Alloras in question have been around since the 80's Keith. Not new kits. And the Corse in Crewe has been a long term project too. Even my LB is 10 years old as a kit.
    December will soon be here...

Welcome Keith, and thanks Robin but don't give me too much credit for Hawk knowledge! I did a lhd conversion on Frederics car, having had a good look at how Guy went about it, but that's about it....

I think you are right Guy, this is clearly a one-off.
I'm aware of four people in the States, including one serious replica manufacturer, who have talked about producing a Stratos replica in the US,...

Re: New Stratos Manufacturer in USA..

If it was an unmolested Boxster chassis then surely it wouldn't need IVA testing?
  21. Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!

Jim makes a no doubt well informed point about brands and their value.
The only issue I see about branding is that a brand owner can and will sell it, but in many cases, with absolutely no...
  22. Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!

Ok Tim. They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Last I saw was a campaign to save Lancia.
Any connection to the previous ownership or is it all new?
    And should we be worried....!?!?
  23. Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!

Two sides to every story, like they say.
Maybe it's a good job Lancia have gone out of business!
  24. Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!

    More and more mysterious then.
If the press release is to be believed, there does seem a good case for appeal. Maybe Sweden are looking for a deal to fill up the SAAB factory again.
    If the worst...
  25. Re: Jaguar sues a bloke who build a replica - and wins!

I think it was the Indians who bought it off Ford, but god knows what's happened in the meantime.
Sounds like Gordon might know who actually owns it. Most of these geezers want to call themselves...
